Why is the precip type not going on next year then?
And I find Raintoday's precip type more useful than NW... but of course NW radar is the best
Think it's usually only available on their subscription service, but they're trying to flog it given the weather at the moment.

Good evening Wales! As a Welshman now living in Buckinghamshire I hope you guys get some decent snowfall. Looks like in the north (my old stomping ground) it's mostly rain or sleet except for the highest ground. In case you haven't seen it the radar on www.raintoday.co.uk is showing precipitation type for the rest of 2009, could be useful to all you lampost watching snow lovers!

Pesky cloud cover has sent my temperature from -4.6 to -3.7 grrr
-
Max temp of -2.2c here today, currently -3.7c but some cloud coming in from the north west which might mean the temperatures don't drop like I thought they would before the front arrives.
-
After a sunny day, some light snow developing over the Chilterns. Temp -0.1c
-
Cold and frosty here -2.8c. Fingers crossed for some snow tomorrow!
-
Temp here is 2.8c and according to one site the dew point in High Wycombe not far from here is -1... Wasn't expecting snow this far south but maybe get a few flakes after all?

That narrow area of rain west of London seemed to appear out of nowhere overhead. It was briefly heavy with big drops but light now. The temp is still dropping, now 18.4c and RH 87%

No rain or storms here yet. The cloud has thickened, the breeze has picked up and the temperature has dropped to 19.9C from 21.6 earlier. Humidity is at 72%. The storms so far have been just to the west of here judging by the radar, on the other side of the Chilterns scarp.

Yeah definitely! I used to live in lowland Flintshire - snow was a very rare occurrence and when it did snow didn't usually last more than half a day or so. I've lived here for 2 years and had several falls of snow. Even had an inch or two in October 2008. After Thursday night's blizzard, have about 8 inches of snow that hasn't melted with temps below freezing all day. Hoping for some more tonight. Good luck Wales!
