  1. I will be surprised if you dont see any snow over the next 3 days.

Sunday looks interesting for this location at the moment. But obviously the forecast can change so much over a few days... With even more doubt hanging over the forecast than usual I'd be impressed if the current forecasts prove to be accurate. Like you said, should get something soon though!

  2. I know the meto are warning for central and eastern areas tonight of snow further north - but the temps have had a chance to dip here tonight to around freezing and the front is slowly moving in from the west - you never know - may be a surprise for us come morning? - nae is having none of it mind - I expect dewpoints will be too high! - looks like warmer air is coming in with it too - from freezing around 6am to 10c by 12 midday!

Thursday might well get us going with some snow/wintry showers

Exactly what I was thinking... Temp here has dipped to -0.7c and looking at the north of England thread most people there seem to be reporting temps at least a few degrees above freezing

  3. In North Wales the amount of snow you can expect varies massively with both altitude and proximity to the coast. It can be raining here on the banks of the Dee and snowing in higher parts of the same town (about 100m difference in altitude). For this specific location, north westerly winds are probably best... A true northerly can bring lots of snow a little further west (which would mean a large portion of North Wales) but a north westerly means the showers can come straight up the estuary off the Irish Sea. Sometimes this set up can even mean the low lying areas end up with more as the showers hug the estuary, but that's almost unheard of! Generally this is not a good spot for snow as we're not often exposed to the wind bringing in showers and frontal snow is very much weakened by the hills and mountains further west.
