  1. Mornin all, currently dry here, no snow overnight. 994mb and steady atm, and 3.6c and 78% humidity. Watched the beeb forecast with my first coffee of the day, not looking good for later. I need to get out and make sure there are no potential missiles lying around outside
  2. Took some rubbish out to the wheelie bin and a really strong gust took the lid out of my hand and all the rubbish up in the air over the fence! Sorry neighbour
  3. Wind starting to pick up here, my front door is going woooooooooooh,...... who needs sophisticated equipment
  4. Just looked at NW alerts, no alerts for the North West?
  5. Wind has died down here too, still breezy though, is that it or is there more to come?
  6. Heavy rain just arrived after spits n spots all morning, blowing a hooley out there as well, 7.1c...................anybody fancy walking my dog?
  7. Nasty cold and wet here, just walked Meg and didn't bother with the park it's like a quagmia(sp). I am sure I encountered the odd snowflake about 3pm as I walked home from the station but generally it was cold sleety rain. Hot soup 'n' crusty bread weather
  8. I know we're not forecast snow but the sky looks weird and to me there is an eerie quiet 'feeling' out there. Currently 5.8c here but feels far colder
  9. 5c here feels colder. Sausages on, heating on a tad higher, subtle lighting, and my wine is open too
  10. Got soaked right through this afternoon for about 15 minutes, didn't look much on the radar and it was more graupel than hail but it hammered down. Heard on local BBC radio that surface water is causing a problem on the motorways this evening.
  11. This Jan is not alcohol free, well only 6 nights of the week anyhoo
  12. Happy New Year everyone. Was up and out on Crosby beach before 8am this morn, weather was ok first thing but by the time I walked back from Formby Point the wind was picking up. The coastal path is littered with rocks, driftwood and rubbish obviously thrown up from last weeks storm, you can see how far the sea breached it's normal height, must have been amazing down there and totally dangerous.
  13. Went to my local park this afternoon walking my pooch, one tree is down, although the roots still sort of in the ground, and big branches all over the gaff, obviously the result of Fridays storm. The trees are not mature and the ground is really boggy, will be a shame to loose any more, not a lot we can do against such weather conditions
  14. Rain battering the front of the house now, wind dropped atm, pressure dropped again to 970hpa
  15. Just looked at NW radar, the winds are wrong? it's showing 23mph for my area and 0mph for the very North of Scotland am I looking at it wrong or what?
  16. How far are you from the sea front Chris? It must be wild over there
  17. The wind has kept me awake for the early hours of the morning, my barometer is showing 971hpa, when I went to bed 7 hours ago it was 985, never witnessed that before. All my garden fences seem intact and my gates are still there, my brace worked
  18. Pressure has dropped to 985hpa in last few minutes that's a big drop in a short time, wind starting to really get up now
  19. Wind now making noises through the front door. I read Rogers post, makes you wonder just how bad this is going to be
  20. me too, tried to reply to 'itsnowjoke' but it failed
  21. I'll remember to duck when walking to the train station in the morning, should be interesting. Pressure just dropped to 988hpa
  22. The worst it can do is blow inside out, but it's not supposed to, will be looking for a refund if it does!
  23. Pressure still at 991hpa, I can hear the rain, ( just blow dried my daughters hair as she is going out, haha) One of my Christmas presents was a 'storm' umbrella it is supposed to withstand 70mph gales, what do you think? will keep you posted
  24. It keeps doing it to me too grrrrrrrr
