  1. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place like that, really nice pictures.
  2. A miserable grey, dull and damp morning here, with a light breeze, currently;- temp 9c windchill 6c Dewpoint 9c Pressure 1030 mb Avg wind 14mph WSW
  3. I've experienced several in the States, mainly Florida but the best was in SE Texas. I was directly under it, the rain was so heavy you couldn't stand out in it as it hurt, never seen anything like it, as it was daytime the lightening was not that spectacular but the thunder was deafening, the ground literaly shook with the noise. Fantastic!
  4. Winds are defo stronger here tonight than yesterday, have been watching that cold front develop on the radar, to me it just seemed to appear from nowhere?
  5. Sustained winds increased to 55mph here gusting to 67mph, there is an eerie howling out there
  6. Pressure rising here now from 984 to 986hpa since 6.30am, sustained winds and temp dropped slightly to 41mph and 9.6c respectively, still gusting 61mph
  7. You beat me to it, just saw the red alert for Scotland, be careful up there...................gusting to 61mph here now
  8. Winds picked up at approx 3am here, with heavy rain which has stopped now, currently blowing a hooley, metO. has latest reading at 6.30 as 42mph with gusts of 56 mph, sounds alot worse, pressure 984hpa and falling. My area isn't covered by metO warnings according to their site, we seem to be surrounded by the shaded areas. Rain started again, very heavy, car alams going off and sat signal lost on tv!
  9. Wind here currently 41mph gusting to 43mph according to obs at 8.50pm, sounds alot worse. Something is clanging around outside not going out to check though Just been and checked, gusts are approx 60mph, thats why it sounds worse!
  10. Surrounded here, constant rumbling, sky has gone black and the wind picking up.
  11. Had a brief but great storm here about 20 mins ago, CG and over head thunder, tremendous rain and hail and gale force winds whipped up in no time, past through very quickly but looks like there could be more on the way
  12. Tsk, just tried to show/explain the display of lightening strikes on the radar to him indoors, only to be told they look like kisses!!! I give up
  13. I'm on the edge of it, can see the sky to the Nrth, ie Preston it looks menacing, the was nothing on the radar earlier it appeared out of no where, the effects of the sun going down and cooling etc. Lots of rumbles and lightening around me but nothing overhead.........yet
  14. We have rumbles and lightening here at last, goin to watch it woohoo!
  15. Lightening in the Irish Sea and just on the coast near Blackpool, near you Slowpoke. Nothing here just dull/dark and breezy
  16. A beautiful day here after some heavy rain this morning, sun is shining, scattered clouds and a breeze, current temp is 24.4c, barometer 1002hpa, no thunderstorms I think Louby passed her storm shield over here!
  17. Looks tremendous in the Channel area, hopefully we may get it later, skies cleared here now, if the sun warms things up later it could be as good here.
  18. Nothing here overnight, a few very heavy showers in the early hours. Alot of activity towards Cumbria last night. Looking at the radar now, it looks as though down towards Plymouth and that area are getting a good show.
  19. Just checked the NW radar, a heavy band of rain moving into my area, no lightening showing as yet.
  20. Just starting to rain here, trees are now rustling aswell, in fact its now lashing down as I type!
  21. Nothing her yet, abot 15 miles North of you, thought I just heard a rumble but not 100% sure, went outside to check but still very quiet and dry
  22. Very quiet here, not a breath of wind, windchimes are completley silent, the birds and owls are silent too, hmm is there something on the way................?
  23. That must have been the lightening I saw on the radar James, nothing here yet just a short sharp shower, it went dark early though.
  24. Just had a brief sharp shower, enough to wet the ground but not enough to soak the grass/soil which is bone dry. Had some heath fires around here this week so any rain will be very welcome. Lightening showing up on the NW radar in the Irish sea Coastal areas , towards the North of me
  25. Certainly windy here, the conservatory roof is creaking like mad, I didn't realise the wind was going to be this bad again, no rain at present, the fields round here are very water logged maybe when the wind dies down we will get the rain?
