I love the pictures of the clouds. I hope it's not like that in August as I'm there then.....................but then it would be great to see some storms

Just been out and it's snowing here, not large flakes but loads of it and it's sticking. The wind has picked up too since earlier.

It appears to have stopped snowing here atm

Snow looking heavy out towards Manchester according to radar. I reckon theres about 2-3cm here, and still snowing.

Morning Shaun, yes its great wasn't really expecting this much, looking at the radar its petering out now. Looking forward to walking the dog this morning, I doubt I'll get my car up the hill!

Woke up at 6.15am to a decent covering of snow here, I think it started about 3.30am, it was coming down heavy but has turned lighter now.

Forgive me, I've only just woke up, are we still on for more snow later? I'm hearing on the radio that the roads are treacherous, airport closed, and motorways closed?? Do I go to work or what, need coffee..............

Snowing real heavy here in Liverpool it doesn't seem to be sticking too much yet as the ground is fairly wet. I'm freezing need more blankets!!

My dream is to go proper stormchasing in the US and see a tornado, I have done it in this country chasing thunder storms around my own local area, wont make it to USA this year maybe next year.

Heavy shower here ATM its a mix of rain/hail, hopefully as the day wears on it will get more wintry

I'm 100% female and I've been on NW since April 2006, but I had a bit of a blip, I read the charts, avidly, and I am usually hanging out in the Model Thread discussion, I have posted in there on an odd occasion, otherwise I am in the regional threads, and I do feel more confident about posting in there. Weather is my hobby be it snow, thunderstorms, hurricanes, tornadoes or sunshine. I am self taught and feel as if I can't compete with more learned members, so I tend to just read and take it all in and shout at them from afar when they are arguing or ramping.

Just watching the Liverpool match at Villa Park on TV and its snowing heavy there, but the radar shows it as sleet??

We've had thunder snow here this morning about 9.00/9.30, a huge flash of lightening and 2 claps of thunder. Other than that moderate sleet/snow showers. There was a nice covering early on but it's gone wet and slushy now, it is treacherous trying to walk, and the roads aren't much better.

Morning all, woke up to a slight covering here, looks like a a generous sprinkling of icing sugar, cold with sunny spells at the moment.

Just checked Skemelsdale is 78m asl. Here in Liverpool we have lying snow/graupel it keeps coming in sharp heavy showers, some really huge clouds coming at me from N/NW

I'm not sure what the ASL is for that area, but its defo higher than here.

Hi Stephen, just had a prolonged hail, snow, graupel shower here in the last half hour, it really came down heavy. We have lieing snow/graupel, its fairly thick up in Skem where I've just come from, roads are tricky too

Not much showing on the radar now, just pink speckles across the North West.

LOL you have such a picturesque way of describing things. Snowflakes smaller and finer now just a slight dusting on the pavements and cars.

It should be with you soon, you are a bit further West than me. Just checked the radar and there's a big blob of pink on my postcode and out towards the River Mersey?

Went out about 3pm and it was bitterly cold, and the wind chill was nasty too, just stared snowing here in Liverpool, big fat ones!

Its just started snowing here in Nrth Liverpool, very slight ground cover atm.

Radar is currently showing sleet very near me.
