I think it's just a generic all NI thing. He didn't specify a place
Yeah thats pretty crap then, starting to feel underwhelmed about next week, hopefully way of the mark on this.

stained glass window not the news I wanted to be reading in here this morning, hopefully it's just model uncertainty and things will upgrade again, or is that wishful thinking?

The famous year where it showed for 3 days in March we had six feet high snowdrifts a ten minute drive up the hill, and 3 days of sleet here. My poor kids watched out the window in despair
That event pained me as we got f all in the west, caused me much jealousy
Just now, The Weather Watcher said:Have been watching the models for a week now ever since I seen the meandering high forecast and the non-ssw event of last week.
I'm very inclined to say if meto are seeing ecm and ukmo as the most likely scenario, it's game on.
Good to see you back Watcher, hope you are keeping well

Lurking with intent and feeling the living-at-sea-level fear.
Aye think we are all managing our expectations, but surely we are all due a decent dumping of the white stuff!

Latest ECM just finishing up rolling out now, is an absolute cracker. That would be countrywide snow, and some decent amounts in sweet spots up north!
Hope that Dublin snow shield gets smashed next week for you Rochey

Hoping we will all see the white stuff next week and bring some of the old gang back online. Course I have a concern that my location will either be too far south for northerly showers or too far north and west for any fronts to make it from the south hitting the cold air and turning to snow

Quick scan of the MT and posts suggesting a snow fest or damp squib, confused.com much?

Yep, the black ice this morning putting the bins out was lethal, a drizzly rain on the frozen footpath, never known it to be as bad or as hard to spot. No salt stored, should have just picked some up when I saw it, but as soon as I buy something like that the weather turns.
I made the mistake of using sand/salt mix in my concrete part last year, stupid mistake as it ate the concrete

What you reckon MS, you are way more knowledgeable than me in these things!

Indeed, nearly came a cropper taking the dog out.
What's your feeling for next week Pom?
Snow heaven or another disappointment?
The 0z ECM was a cracker with snow potential for us from t+168 to t+240.
Honestly think we are due something special, 17th/18th could be good for us! I have scudded it now for us haven't I

Just take the roads handy these mornings folks, family reporting black ice on the roads in Cavan, would imagine its the same in a lot of other places

The model thread has become very tiresome to wade through, dunno why folk want to spend the energy in either trolling or over ramping, would hate to be a mod.

My front garden is slightly elevated, as such it loses water very quickly and I have to water it often in the summer. Walked across the grass this evening and it's sodden. I'm living here over 20 years and I've never seen it like that. I literally splodged* across the grass.
*Yes, I did make that word up.Thankfully we are looking at a dry week coming up, will take dry bright days over what we have endured these past few months!

Things are a bit tetchy in the Model Thread so hard to follow what's going on in there. As much as I like snow I am quite happy with this wee dry and bright spell, nice way to end what has been a grey and damp month.
