Number of snow showers here this morning, but no covering as a tad wet on it. The mountains on over the horizon appear a bit white so a bit festive at least

So after all the hope and expectation another snowless Christmas seems certain, with nothing remotely snow like until the New Year at the earleist.
I'm going to take time off model watching for a couple of weeks as the weather looks pretty benign.
Have a great Christmas and happy New Year.
Have a good one MS, hopefully the New Year will bring you the white stuff

Don't think I have ever seen black ice as bad as what it is this morning. Cars getting caught out all over the place
It's really bad mate, I don't recall any warnings being issued either?

I know the lack of snow is disappointing but I am loving dry sunny frosty weather, everywhere is white around here with hoar froast and to me has its own beauty

I am enjoying the dry cold frosty days IMBY, lots of hoar frost this morning with lovely sunshine coming through the lifting mist. Beats mild wet muck.

Had about 10 minutes of decent snow earlier. Lovely and frosty outside.

Glad you've had a covering.
Hard frost here this am, unfortunately I think most will see zero snow this cold spell.
Thanks Mountain, checked that out before but its just showing old images. I will play about with it here and see if I can work it out. As for the covering it really is the slightest dusting I have filed it under meh.

Must have been a wee shower of snow here during the night, have the slightest covering. Question folks, how are you uploading photos, when I go to add from files its just loading as an attachment instead of uploading the photo?

So, we're now into colder air but I'm not seeing a 2010 situation as yet in terms of widespread snowfall across the island.
For the next 5 or 6 days, very little precipitation around with only areas exposed to the NE Wind likely to benefit with a little altitude needed.
After that the potential for heavy snow into the South as the Atlantic attacks, but for the rest of us, it's feeding off scraps.
For selfish reasons this isn't annoying me, but once I get this stuff done outside I demand that we have plenty of the white stuff

After all my wondering about the ice warning as it has been so dry and the weather apps didn't show any precipitation I have had a number of showers since. Sadly no white stuff

There's still a lot of moisture in the ground from the heavy rain of a few weeks ago, so I'm sure there will be ice around.
Aye suppose I am being IMBY with my observation that the roads and the paths are dry around here.
And as I type that we have a light shower

Meto ice warning extended to Friday, I am not sure if all the areas included should be as I don't see much in the way of precipitation in the weather apps?
