  1. Ok - I'm getting excited now - I did say that I would wait until Wednesday, but bugger it.. WOOOO HOOOO :excl: Problem I now face - BBC main weather shows the snow hitting central belt around mid morning tomorrow, however, the last thing I want is to get snowed in in Glasgow centre given I need to drive home, and I can't drive in snow What's the thinking for timing tonight ? Looking at everything, I'm thinking we may see it through the night as opposed to the initial hit being tomorrow mid morning.. (ps - anything for a reason to not go to work )
  2. Stirling Snow Shield in Operation ready to Launch....
  3. An Englandshire Interloper lol - only joking Teits - good to see you here, and also good to see that the central belt might actually get some pwopah winter weather This cold, sunny weather is a pain after a while !
  4. To be honest, I've been monitoring the beebs online forecast for my area, and I can't actually remember the last time they got anything right - be it the temps, or indeed, the actual weather. Mind you, the last time I looked, Stirling wasn't quite in Grangemouth
  5. Hmm. We've got this... http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2326 :sigh:
  6. Argh ! Just wandered into the MT - I think we actually got a mention along the lines of "Scotland will be cold". Hmmmm.
  7. -7 in Stirling just now, so I hate to think what the low was overnight... Blitzen - I'm sure we were "here" this time last week, and we all know what happened there If the charts are still showing someting around the Wed 12z/18z then I may start getting excited ...
  8. What's that saying about little things and small feet. Or something Baltic conditions in Stirling - I don't think we're above freezing yet, and last night was chilly...disappointed about the southgrading of the event for tomorrow, but I cling desperately to the future northgrade of the event of Thursday PERMISSION TO TOORP SIR ? (salutes)
  9. Winters Over. the above is probably not the case, but hey - it's saturday, and I've just had to rebuild my laptop.
  10. Not a cloud to be seen in stirling... Colder than a witches..etc... though.
  11. Typisch.. The 6z gfs has completely downgraded the snow for Sunday through the Central belt.
  12. Wow - that was a cold one in Stirling last night - I think it peaked at about -7/-8.. There seems to be pretty good confidence over the snow event on Sunday - so we'll see if it pans out, I note though that it's all been brought forward by 24hours or so, so there will probably be more change/downgrade/upgrade... If I'm right, the last SWly at this time of year brought a major dumping a couple of years ago, coincidentally, that was on a Sunday as well... Fingers crossed - one last decent dumping here, would make me a happy bunny.
  13. Wow - Beeb are going for some major snow in Central regions Sunday through to Monday.. Kiss of Death or what...
  14. Wow - that was a hard frost in Stirling last night - everything is White ! Going to Edinburgh today with the kids, so I hope it stays dry..
  15. Woohoo We got a covering in Stirling !! Only, it's graupel.
  16. Who ? Tax Dodgers ? How come I never saw any of it then (cough) - on holiday due to kids school holidays, pretty damn sure I don't remember having an "In Service" days when I was at school...
  17. LS - 15 ? Jeez, I had him pegged for way older (and that's also a compliment). Wow. Kudos though, some very very mature posts but moreso, some very very interesting ones !
  18. Yip - if it's the one I remember - we had about a foot of snow in Stirling overnight on the Sat into Sunday, at that time, that was the most snow I'd seen in nearly 15 years, and certainly the most snow my kids had seen. Not sure if Stirling will collect any this week, but we live in hope - I just hope I picked the right week to be off work
  19. Hehe I wiz bein silly Argh - just found out nw is on lofi for mobiles ! Nice !
  20. Phew..what a day. Pure panicking = rushing round Primark getting all me swimmies and shorts for next week onwards.. And, I forgot to get new sunglasses, so that's me having to go back in again tomorrow. Argh. That aside - that was quite a temperature swing today, -5 this morning to +9 this afternoon in the Weej.... winter's gone on holiday I think.
