  1. Unless I'm mistaken - isn't tomorrow's setup, roughly the same as a couple of years ago, when the central belt ground to a halt ? Black Monday IIRC...
  2. http://news.stv.tv/scotland/209222-severe-weather-warning-issued-as-snow-is-predicted-to-hit-scotland/ Sean says
  3. Oh My God. Went to the last page of the MT, read the following followed by "ECM is like the UKMO" "ECM is like the GFS" I mean, come on. As for the opening quote ?
  4. It's usually around 1m above the height of Englandshire. Anything below that, sees continual sub tropical rain.
  5. I'm the eternal pessimist. I really don't think we'll get anything this weekend....
  6. Yikes - I wouldn't want to be in Scandinavia.
  7. That's some pretty strong agreement for the New Years week being on the milder side and a bit damp... No Cold here, move along please...
  8. Stirling had some ferocious sustained gusts last night - we've got a patio set with a big umbrella that refused to come down - so I wished it luck and left it to it. One huge crash at about 11pm, and I went out to see the table on it's side with the umbrella flapping like a student at freshers week. Carefully dismantled snapped it in 2 to fold it away, and, ....... Currently posting this from somewhere north of Ullapool.
  9. Currently sitting inside my freezer, just so that I can remember what winter was like.
  10. I like. I'm at Auchterarder for Xmas Day, so fully expecting to be snowed in due to their microclimate..
  11. Yuck @ this mornings outputs. Not seeing any snow this week....ensemblies as well look pretty mild going into next week...
  12. It's currently +32 deg in my office. Why do some people insist on putting air con up so bloody high. Apart from anything, going in and out of that heat all day, is bad for the health. Cough.
  13. Ensembles for us show that after the milder interlude, the trend from pretty much all members is for a return back down to a colder outlook. Maybe not as cold as today, but certainly, the 25th looks to be a chilly day more than a cold one, with the outside chance of some snow/sleet for some.
  14. Can't understand why on the MT, they start readying the Toorp-machine just because "FI" on the GFS appears to bring the Atlantic back in (for 24/48hrs), yet seemingly forget that the models struggle somewhat even up to +72. It's a weird logic.
  15. Ooph - just went and had a look in the MT... nothing's changed I see.
  16. Nope - just been outside, and it's drizzle. Game's a bogey in Glasgow I'm afraid...
  17. If I'm honest, it feels too mild in central Glasgow....certainly not as cold as yesterday or last night (early)...
  18. Lol - I never pretended I was anything other than an ardent Cold Ramper. Sitting in my office in Glasgow and it's peeing down, though when I left stirling there had been about 2 inches - then stuck on M80 behind 2 ploughs made for a scary journey it....I thought they were meant to clear the snow, not pack it down and then polish it ? "Slip Sliding Away...."
  19. <snort><shuffle> It's snowing ? Oh well in that case, HI !
  20. winds still hooring through from the west, no sign of a shift to NW'ly...
  21. Its absolutely hammering down with rain in Stirling and the winds are starting to pick up - schools closed at 1230 which will make for an interesting school run
