Just heard the forecast on News 24 and your right. Wind will veer easterly later. Blimey, that was some forecast for the central belt? Possible 40cms! Amber warning still in force for the whole of eastern Scotland depositing a possible 25cms.
Incredible stuff - if even half that comes off - we're going to be looking a widespread chaos tomorrow. I've opted for the working from home tomorrow and Thursday - there is no way I'm going to attempt the drive to Glasgow.

Possibly getting updated for tonight/tomorrow as I've saw on a few other regional threads that the models have shifted tonight's feature further northwards
Ominous indeed.

Watching the weather on BBC this morning and I can't help thinking they're downplaying it a little - a fleeting mention of Ambers and some cursory mention of depths on Wednesday.

I was born in a blizzard.
Parents lived in Carrbridge and had to negotiate the auld A9 over Slochd in whiteout conditions on the way tae Raigmore hospital.
It unquestionably was the beginning of a lifelong love of snaw for me.
I was born in a field according to my mother when I was growing up

If that verifies as the MR is showing, we may see red for the central belt on Thursday - that's an epic forecast.

Yellow now for Thursday.
This week is going to be epic, I just hope everyone stays safe.

Can anyone remember back to 2010 - didn't we get a Red warning on the Monday morning? I think that's what sparked me to leave work early before the worst of the snow hit.

Keeping my eye on this from SR
That will cripple the M8 and M80 and probably leave some under a fair amount of snow.
