  1. I've just taken a call from the BBC apparently there is damage from a suspected tornado around an hour ago around the Redditch area. Has anyone seen or heard anything?
  2. Can we make sure to choose words carefully please, no overly enthusiastic slating or personal insults. Of course you can throw the word charlatan around a bit, and be glowing in your praise too, but keep it clean, Thanks
  3. Feel free to post them up, they are your pictures after all...
  4. It's the same as any market, if a customer is unhappy with the level of service, they'll walk away at the earliest opportunity. Also bear in mind pretty much every retailer was left kicking themselves last year where they were caught out with winter product deliveries scheduled evenly across the season. Winter kicked off fast, hung around for a month or so, everything sold out, then the next delivery of sledges, shovels and salt sat gathering dust. Seasonal product orders were placed months ago, there isn't much that can be done to change them now, so they will most likely have over ordered for this winter, or risk being accused of failing their customers. The stores will also use our memories of being caught out last year to push product sales before winter strikes, they are more likely to be able to sell at a price they choose then, rather than shifting sledges for pennies in March.
  5. It's all been going so well too. Can we try to keep on track please, a bit of back and forth is fine, but keep it at discussion level, 'clever' insults and endless pedantics don't do the overall content of this thread any justice and will be removed.
  6. I guessed as much, but as Judderbains has revealed herself to be a lady, I wanted to answer the conundrum, it made me feel clever. And if Judderbains is still following this, let me know what name you'd like to be and I'll change it for you.
  7. The surgeon is his mum, and this is not becoming the conundrum and riddle forum...
  8. It's a logical fallacy, assuming that because one event follows another it was the first event that caused the second, or in the case of AGW removing the first event will stop the second event occurring. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_hoc_ergo_propter_hoc
  9. It would be a lot simpler to investigate Piers methodologies if he published them, and I agree he can come in for a lot of overly personal comments. We try to stop them when we see them on the forums, but Piers could possibly help himself by not being quite so strident, aggressive and dismissive in all of his comments and releases. Good luck with the investigation, keep us posted with the reports you are reading, and how they are influencing you. I'll move this to the Climate discussion area, you'll find a lot more information there.
  10. Morning That would potentially be a long list of sub forums? We do have an area for discussing international weather http://forum.netweather.tv/forum/112-weather-around-the-world-general-discussion/ As for discussing in individual languages, it would be an exclusive thread for very few members, and be impossible for the moderators to intervene should the need arise. So, while we don't discourage international languages, I don't think there is enough demand to justify exclusive language threads. Ian
  11. Shedhead, could you reply to my pm please. If you aren't familiar with the message page you'll see the envelope symbol on the top right of any forum page. Thank you. Sorry to take this slightly off topic.
  12. Hi Styx We are a rather refined group, aren't we, lol. Wait until winter kicks in, you'll see the other side of the coin then.... I'm not sure exactly what you mean with the profile pic, can you explain it to me please? Cheers Ian
  13. No problems with people wanting to believe conspiracies and cover ups, but just thinking for 2 seconds would have made any normal person think that yesterday was not the time to air them. They aren't even his thoughts, just a copy and paste job, so it was hardly a heartfelt or well constructed view, just cheap plagiarism.
  14. Poor taste, poor judgement and incredibly selfish as well as disrespectful of the thousands affected by the atrocity itself and ongoing repercussions, I think you should seriously reconsider leaving this blog online. Or at least remove it for a few days before reposting. Try and show a little bit of humanity, or if that is too much to expect then consider that scoring points on the day that remembers a huge loss of life, and subsequently set the world on a path that is still destroying lives to this day is sick. If after considering this you think it is still right to score conspiracy theory points, then every point you make, every post, every viewpoint expressed is cheapened by your obvious inability to demonstrate compassion ahead of your mission to swallow every morsel of misinformation you can find and regurgitate it like a projectile vomiting infant desperately sticking his fingers down his own throat in the hope that someone will give him some attention. No attention is available, just a mop in the hope you will clear up your own mess and learn not to do it again.
  15. Every time I see the shots, I think of Pat imploding with excitement in a lightning frenzy with 6 cameras on the go and him spinning in circles shouting random swear words at each flash. We have to get him out there just for the entertainment value!
  16. Not. Jealous. At. All Great shots, it must have been unbelievable up there?
  17. Nicely done Craig, can't get my head around the 8 hours time difference. Guess it was 10.30ish for you when you posted this? Hows the tan coming on?
  18. Good luck out there, remember slip slap slop, plenty of fluids (bud doesn't count), and keep them cameras clicking. I'm relying on you to all enjoy the tour, get some awesome shots and make it possible for me to go next year ;-)
  19. A mild and comfortable 46 celsius in Arizona yesterday, forget sun cream, take a burqa or two!!
  20. Not so much pinched as borrowed, we have had a a lot of conversations with them over the past few weeks, including a lot of the retail info they used last night, my favourite fact is the increased sales of leg wax when it gets warmer, it's in our retail sales blurb. I think they are doing a decent job of demystifying the weather, the target audience is reflected in the time of broadcast, The One Show, Eastenders etc all share a similar time slot, its a glossy magazine style show aimed at the mass market. The viewing figures will be interesting across the series.
  21. Try either the V5 radar or zooming the V4 radar for lightning info, we're working on the loss of data on the default view, sorry we moved servers earlier today and some bits still need a squirt of wd40 and a kick or two
  22. I'd have given you -ve reps for that. If reps aren't important to you, why are you bothered by them?
  23. Welcome back It's a fair point, from my memory last year was better locally. Tony, can you chart the last couple of years against this year from the weather station? I'd be interested to see where it stands so far this year. Ian
  24. Isn't it time to just let this go? We held our hands up, repeatedly, it went wrong. Sorry. Now get over it, we have. As for your theories and opinions about the timing of the forecast, you really must try to think things through before you hit the 'Post' button, it could lead to time on the naughty step.
