  8. Hi Matt Any idea what time it is likely to arrive here?
  9. Temp -0.5C and very windy I have not looked at the forecast this morning and I am not going to either, I am just going to wait and see what happens. Jase I did send my kids to school this morning after the downgrade last night, just been informed that they are closing the school at 1225 this afternoon. Jase
  10. Very good point old bloke, I remember the thaw after feb09 here, I have never seen so much water on the roads up here and that is saying something. Jase
  11. Just seen the latest BBC weather, seems to be a big downgrade for most of the south west apart from higher ground. No where near the snow totals that were talked about. I would not be surprised to see this downgraded even further but I hope not. Maybe peeps further n orth will do better. Good luck all. Jase
  12. Thanks guys. I was thinking about just keeping them home. Rgearding the school calling, if it does not snow where they go to school(which is off the moor and much lower than here) they probably won't tell us to pick them up. It has happened before, and driving across the moor with your kids in the car during a blizzard is not fun. Keep them home I think. Jase
  13. Right peeps, have a bit of a decision to make here, my kids are due to get on the school bus tomorrow to go to school, and return on said bus at approx 4 o'clock, by which time we could have a covering already and there should be heavy falling snow. I have 4x4 vehicle but that is not always enough to get you through up here. So help me decide, send them school or keep them home again? Jase
  14. Just seen the latest BBC forecast with Dan C and he was giving out heavy snow for Devon and Cornwall on tuesday including lower levels. I am struggling to see how this will happen, I would have thought it would be mor of a rain event. I am expecting a downgrade by them tomorrow. Jase
  15. LOL I could not agree more regarding the altitude! although you have to feel for the snow lovers lower down.
  16. A guy from up here came that way the other day and slid off the road and crashed through a fence! Don't know what the roads are like through there now. Take care fella. Jase
  17. I drove down to Tavistock yesterday, good job I had 4x4!!!! There was a woman being towed by a land rover after getting stuck just past merrivale quarry. Jase
  18. snowing here, a cm or 2 top up by the looks of it. how much snow are we expecting? i thought the worst was going north? according to the bbc forecast. jase
  19. Would the potential midweek event be widespread snow including devon and cornwall? or is it another m4 corridor north jobby? With my altitude I may stand to see some more snow maybe? Something for me to keep an eye on in case I need to run out and get supplies! We get cut off easily here. Jase
  20. Sky were filming live just now about 50 yards from my door! I know the lad who rescued them when they were stuck. During the broadcast they measured the ground temp. at -18C!!! P.S. My son had to go and run out and start waving in the background Jase
