  1. It must be the next band of PPN coming up from Cornwall that the METO have issued a warning for later.
  2. Check on the radar.... Blue is rain Red is snow A massive shift in the front is now required for Bristol. Mind you the METO have put a warning out....
  3. Yes, shows all rain heading into Sailsbury on the radar.
  4. Anyone in the Wells, Cheddar, Shepton Mallet area? My radar shows snow.
  5. Yes, watching the radar the main band is heading towards london and the PPN following is dying away.
  6. Use this radar.... Rain = Blue Red = Snow http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
  7. Hope your right my friend. Looks like the main band is way to the east. Lets wait and see....
  8. Not sure they put warnings out for light to moderate rain.
  9. Bristol, North Somerset will miss this event today.....
  10. Seems we may just get the edge of it. Heres my thought on the systems progress today:
  11. Anyone here from south Devon? That system now approaching, will be interesting to see what comes from it.
  12. Morning all. Could be an interesting day here in the Bristol area. Watching the radar on how far west and north this approaching system will get will have to be watched. Not sure what access you peoples have to radar, but the one over at http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ is good. Watched the the showers on there last night very well. By watching the radar I think the Bristol area might see something (hopefully), but not sure what....as in rain / sleet / snow. Currently have about 1 cm here in Yatton, and I will be supprised if that is still here come early afternoon when that weather system will be approaching. Anyway......lets see..
  13. Im sure someone here mentioned a weather warning for snow for Dorset...think that is very wrong at this moment in time.
  14. The sun is out and lovely. Temp now 4.9 Degrees. Lol. The beast never appeared...again. This so called cold spell confined to the SE corner of the country. Very disppointing considering some experienced weather watchers predicted for the WHOLE country. I take your 15 years old then?
  15. Thats my problem with what the models are throwing out. If we compare them to this time last year the current models are amazing.....but not producing and coming to fruition in the reliable timeframe. I think they are just teasing us..
  16. Well put. Im no expert but it seems people have been reading the models the wrong. Looking too much into FI. People here keep saying to watch the model output for the reliable, and everytime its a little disappointing. I was assured by many posters here that this was going to be the best cold spell for years, in FI yes. But never in the reliable.
  17. At last someone on my wavelength! This cold spell has been hyped hyped and hyped again by people on here. Wheres the cold the models have been showing for two weeks........ There are a lot of people on here that dont understand the weather and causing false hopes. The BBC have been pretty spot on so far in their forecasts. Damp monday to wednesday, colder the end of week with sunny spells. No snow. No real cold. And why im ranting this is a very bias East East East forum.
  18. Mainly dry and sunny for next few days. Overnight frost (not seen that this so called cold spell we are now in!) and winds back round to the west eventually. Lets get this cold air in soon! LP's from the southwest with snow, and the cold holding out. A bit like feb, but id prefer much colder temps...please.
  19. FI - Fantasy Island Refering to the chart posted for the 23rd Dec.
  20. FI. Just like all the models, brilliant in FI. Then when we reach that date very different. This has happend since begining of last week. People on the forum last wednesday and thursday saying the word 'nailed' in regards to freezing temps for this week! The weekend is forecast for a little colder but that is still FI.
  21. The models and forecast is changing all the time! Will be nice to get this drizzle damp rubbish out the way tonight as it clears from the north. Still cant see any snow coming our way yet, but with the wind direction turning more westerly over the weekend and no real cold here yet I feel a little worried. We will see. Essemblys suggesting the cold spell to last just past christmas.....would be nice for the COLD spell to get here first becaus it hasnt quite yet!
  22. Thanks for the reply. Its just the impression I got from reading the forum for the last two weeks, many people referenced feb 91, 63, 47 etc. I will listen to the more experienced on here. Thanks
