  1. That was a completely different scenario. A showery trough moved NE into what had been a minus 4 to minus 6 early morning.
  2. This is a first for the season, temperature dropping after 08.00, currently the lowest it has been all night etc at 0.7c .
  3. Wonderful day and evening for the Christmas Market and light switch on in Warminster! Frost in the shade all day is something I always look out for.
  4. Perfect day for drying washing with sunny spells, lower humidity and a fresh N'ly wind. Wouldn't mind days like this all winter to be honest.
  5. Thankfully a benign day with sunny spells after a very wet few hours before dawn, it rained so hard after 05.00 that it woke us all up!
  6. The radar was very ‘jumpy’ yesterday and Saturday. Picking up showers then losing them and picking them up again from one 5 minute slot to the next!
  7. There have been stronger sounding/feeling gusts in the last 6 to 8 hours than from any of the named storms in recent weeks!
  8. What’s the bets tomorrow does the exact opposite of yesterday’s unexpected deluge!? As in an expected deluge fails to materialise.
  9. It’s so wet here a heron has landed in next doors roof. Nobody near us has a pond! Well, not an intentional pond anyway !
  10. This big area of downpours and heavy rain was not shown on any forecast or model I viewed! Conditions under it are terrible!
  11. I would absolutely love that kind of set up! Freezing fog, rime, chance of crystallised fog, frost on frost. It seems an age since that kind of set up.
  12. A beautiful day with sunshine then hazy sun, continuing the run of plenty of sunshine. However if anyone says that we need rain after a few dry weeks next year please note this has been the first dry day in my location (despite so much sunshine) for 20 days!
  13. This week has continued the theme of plenty of sunshine thanks to favourable frontal/trough timings. Ironically the day with least sunshine (Wednesday) had a dry spell from mid morning and right through to the end of the day! However there was a very slow clearance of cloud. Today, despite a terribly wet period until 09.00, has been glorious for 3 hours and likely to remain so. 97mm so far this month!
  14. I had a measly 34mm in my gauge from the downpours yesterday mid pm/evening then this morning’s deluge! So nearly 1.5 inches but other places have doubtless had more.
