Had a similar issue, wife puts out the washing then asks me if it's going to rain to which I replied "showers". Next thing you know up pops what was a small passing shower that grew in size and hung around for a good 25mins in total. Sheets were wringing wet, so guess who had the privilege to bring them in, spin them and stick them back out again?

Thankfully things died out and it is indeed glorious.

  2. It’s times like this I detest weather. Today has been showing as a dry day on everything all week. It was showing as a dry day when I got up an hour ago.

So 3 days of washing out on the line and airers. All set up to dry by tea time. We’re just about to head out to my son’s football and, as if by magic, a batch of showers has formed moving in from the SW!

All the activity just missing us currently, assume some will pop up in the channel? Radar looks completely saturated.

Nothing is really popping up in the channel either. Showers keep developing just inland and running North in linear fashion like on this latest radar grab.

I expect more lines to start forming around the Beaminster/Bere Regis/Wimborne areas soon.

While I do enjoy these dry & sunny days, the sun's lost enough of its power now to be of little use, so bring on the proper autumn deluge shown in the models!

Err those of us who work outside will think differently! I would have loved today’s conditions to continue! Also it’s very useful for drying washing in less than 2 hours!

    BBC - sunny and 21C

Met Office - cloudy and 20C

Temperatures not too different, seems like the main difference will be whether it's sunny or not. Guess we'll see!

Very often when Met Office shows cloudy it equates to high cloud with hazy sunshine.
