Looks like my son's football could get postponed this weekend in the new forest.
That'll make it 3 games so far this season.
Adults or children’s football? My team Westbury United are due to play in the New Forest at Bashley this Saturday.
There’s a few of us in this thread with involvement in local adult leagues.

Well when the sun came up and was shining brightly around 08.30 I was hopeful of a fine day.
Gloom, mist and fog prevail since soon after that!
So little sun recently, even on the dry days.

Nice late afternoon. Wasn't expecting that.
Clear blue skies and Sunshine.
We had about 5 minutes sunshine at 15.10 while walking home from school!

Quite a drop in temperature this evening. It had been around 7.5c to 8c all day while East of the rain band.
My son looked at my weather station an hour ago and said “daddy it’s 4.6c outside”.
That surprised me, by the way it’s 4.2c now.

Definitely in a fortunate position so far today with that heavy rain stuck only a few miles to the West. It rained properly for about an hour after dawn but since then just drizzly.

Lovely scenery on the A350 driving from Westbury to Warminster at about 16.00, lots of evidence on the hills of the white fog deposits from this morning.

I've only seen I once, at night, and the moon was visible, it looked like sparkling bits of dust, called it fairy dust, to the kids, they were up late, and I just had to let them see it, they were, as you can imagine mesmerized.

It has continued on and off all morning, even with some sunshine which makes it glitter beautifully! Guess that’s where the diamond dust name comes from.

Is it a light hoar frost Andy? or perhaps "Rime Ice"
Not really sure. It was literally falling like snow.

I was the post that I’ve just woken up, open the curtains and not sure if there’s been a very fine covering of snow. But after reading your post and seeing that it is foggy, it is just most likely frozen fog particles
. grass does not seem to be so white, but the cars and the roads and plants are most definitely covered in the frozen fog. Absolutely beautiful to see though.
Guys we have literally had crystallised fog falling IMBY in the last half hour. Different amounts front and back.

Really could do with some of that blue sky here. This week, except Monday, seems to have only been clear in the evening and overnight!
I haven’t seen the sun properly since Monday afternoon! A mixture on various days of low cloud, mist, fog, thick medium level cloud, frontal cloud. You name it!
And it’s gloomy now too.

I saw about 30 flakes in a 10 minute spell around 10am. Otherwise a bitter, breezy and dry day.

Very pretty though and it was that special moment before dawn where you see the flakes falling in the light of the street lamps. Isn’t that just one of the greatest sights in all of weather watching?
Lamppost Watching. A great pastime and one my son now joins in with!

Thoughts turn to early December last year where here in Wilts we had a morning of light to steady snowfall which remained on the ground for a week and we were nowhere near the yellow warning issued the day before.
But yes, I'm not expecting anything here, but never say never!
That was a completely different scenario. A showery trough moved NE into what had been a minus 4 to minus 6 early morning.

Wonderful day and evening for the Christmas Market and light switch on in Warminster!
Frost in the shade all day is something I always look out for.

Perfect day for drying washing with sunny spells, lower humidity and a fresh N'ly wind. Wouldn't mind days like this all winter to be honest.

This is the 3rd consecutive evening that the cloud has disappeared and the moon is shining brightly!

Thankfully a benign day with sunny spells after a very wet few hours before dawn, it rained so hard after 05.00 that it woke us all up!

It’s raining
theres nothing on radar but it’s still raining
The radar was very ‘jumpy’ yesterday and Saturday. Picking up showers then losing them and picking them up again from one 5 minute slot to the next!
