  1. You're joking-those North Sea pulses look pretty wimpy to me-won't even make it over Pennines / Yorkshire moors
  2. Midlands forum people are moaning about rain as well..........not just us
  3. What the ppn is from the East? I thought it was coming down from Scotland. If the ppn is from the East and the cold uppers from the east then this chart for us looks plausible http://www.snow-fore...maps/dynamic/uk
  4. Yes-coludn't agree more. People seem to forget that, even last winter after the December cold snap, January and February were really mild.
  5. Actually they reduced power from mach .82 to .80 on purpose-standard procedure in turbulence
  6. The power of ice! Helped bring down Air France 447 when supercooled water lodged in the pitot tubes of A330 at 35000ft. Computer was then getting false airspeed readings, switched off and plane goes into unrecovered stall.
  7. .........for gods sake..................what was the chances of that happening...anyway it did happen.
  8. So what happened here yesterday exactly? I mean we had the surface temps, we had iceicles all day-yet all we got was frozen rain.
  9. Well let'ts hope so <sigh> All we need now, to complete a miserable day, is for Everton to get beat.
  10. Weird-just come back from Tesco where there was iceicles on the roof-yet still it rains
  11. Should be interesting what I get here-a few miles inland from you guys.....still nowt at all.
  12. 'Little drops of rain, whisper of the pain'.........Led Zeppelin-Thank You
  13. Hi guys, just popped in from NW regional. Looks like Northern Ireland is right under the front according to met sat. Any ppn yet?
  14. Certainly is.........I can verify that wind chill, just been out.
  15. I wanted it to stall/slow down a bit-but not stall off Westrn Ireland-SST's 10-11C there!, 8C in Irish Sea http://www.seafordweather.co.uk/wl/UKSeaTemp.htm
  16. Good........I was hoping for a stall....looks like GFS has underestimated the strength of the block. To the guy who was wondering why no heavy frost on cars etc-low dew points=very dry air with little moisture to condense.
