  1. oh dear - at least high ground may get something on a positive note
  2. does it matter - just because the models are showing it to be more marginal doesn't mean they are wrong ? if it snows it snows - if it doesn't - well it'll just be a bit wet !
  3. nice chart but 0-5cm covers a large area, but 0-5cm includes both 0.1cm and 0cm - so read it how you will
  4. and an extremely well respected and senior BBC weatherforecaster too also someone that normally takes great pleasure in forecasting thunderstorms and snow !
  5. I didn't like the .28 past News24 forecast - snow "maybe" for the hills in the Midlands and specific reference to the snow event not being comparable to last weeks oh well - fingers crossed it doesn't pan out that way
  6. agreed - but they also can suddenly all be removed too we'll see
  7. er no ? this was the R. Mc forecast as of 15 mins ago I was quite surprised at the positive mild spin, as he tends to favour the cold I'll listen/watch more attentively at 20:28 and see if I misheard ....
  8. just driven home (3 miles) started off as rain then heavy snow back roads are absolutely appauling
  9. that said we still have a good 2-3 inches of lying snow  - so can't complain no way I'm going out on the roads tomorrow morning - even after the day of sun on our local (unsalted) roads, it was very dicey
  10. why is the East (Essex/Suffolk etc) in a "orange flash warning zone" - we going to get 15cm of snow ? <I'll get my coat> looks like they got last night right, and tonight wrong
  11. just goes to show how height makes a difference we live in CHelmsford but on a hill (not Danbury) and 65m ASL over 4 inches here
  12. I'm on the edge of South Chelmsford ~(Galleywood way) and we're well and truly still snow here
  13. what potential depths could we be looking at come the morning ??? already 4 inches and now back to heavy snow again
  14. measured the bin here in Chelmsford - just under 4 inches and still snowing although not as hard as eariler up to max amounts we had last year already - going to be interesting tomorrow morning if even more to come !
