  1. Must have been very wet stuff most of the day. Just in and the wet surfaces are turning white. Extremely windy with heavy wet snow blowing through. A mile down the road towards the coast has nothing lying. The back of Dundee is very being effected by heavy, drifting snow.
  2. Thoughts how this evening may develop or pan out?
  3. Same here. Every event s the same isn't it? Will it, won't it. This one is so close. Who knows for us coasters. Even slight variations in wind can make al the difference.
  4. Been away all today. Had a look through the posts and a quick look through NAE. Looks like we may even get some lying snow near the coast from this. Some inland spots possibly will have big totals. Interesting spell. A little covering from flurries today and feels like a very dry, icy cold this evening.
  5. Yeh, it looks the business on the radar. Must have seen you posting something related to that before. Rings a bell you have family here ??? Did you get much from the front yesterday ?
  6. The more horrible the better!! Mega streamer shooting off the north of Isle of Man and funnelling out to Belfast. Looks v impressive on the radar.
  7. Good evening NI. Hope you enjoyed getting buried yesterday. Just thought is pop in to see if the streamer shooting off the north of the Isle of Man and heading for Belfast was being discussed. That's very impressive on the radar. Something to do with air movement round the island? By the time it makes landfall, it's huge. Brilliant !!! Enjoy your snow guys
  8. North East England is getting the full treatment. Endless showers rolling in. Probably SE Scotland aswell. SS will be buried soon.
  9. Yeh. In snow, thaw cycle just now. Hope that from this evening onwards it will stick better between showers. Sitting right on the margin so don't require huge changes. As LS mentioned earlier today or yesterday at some point, there was a lot of this in 2010. Remember days with lovely convective showers and ice then as little as 3hour periods when trees and roofs started to drip then ice again. So even in the coldest spells, there are fluctuations. I'd not be surprised at all to have a spell tonight with reasonable selling snow as we cross the margin.
  10. Be interesting to see how tonight pans out. We have a 24 hour window of -9 and below uppers. And the dew points go very low? The showers passing by just now have a more towering look to them than this morning. My slight covering is still hanging on for dear life.
  11. Looks like a slightly quieter spell of precip which is clear on the radar but the next group of showers are pushing in behind that.
  12. Very well done. Look forward to the Picts. We have a good snow shower just now. Light and fluffy agin but ground a little wet. Good potential today I think. Edit. Great shower. Very dark and low vis. Amazing how quick the wet bits get covered. Must due to he low dew points.
  13. Very good trending of temps at Leuchars over the last few hours. From 3.6 at 0400 to 1.4 now. Snow showers again now.
  14. Yeh slushy this morning but still a covering. In my neck of the woods, beggars can't be choosers. Dew points drop through the day today and end up very low tonight. Uppers and 950's in good shape. -11's coming to visit this evening. That's exceptional. Not sure how the uppers effect convection. Be interested to hear thoughts? Hopefully keep some convection going till tomorrow to maintain snow cover. 2m temps on the coast appear to drop a degree today aswell so lots to be positive about.
  15. Showers are definitely grouping up now on the radar.
  16. Showers on and off. Ground is white. To me it looks like the activity in the North Sea is increasing. Some big showers well out at sea in line with just north of Newcastle.
  17. Don't get the MO forecast for Dundee on the 3 hour breakdown. Shows rain from now till Sunday. Can't access NAE just now but can't believe it's changed that much ??
  18. This is clearly an extract from Fiftey Shades Of Snow.
  19. Good morning. I have just woken up and can confirm that the first shower to come to land here this morning is snow. Ground is white
  20. Like it. Hate to labour the point but just now, we have a SSE wind gusting over 30mph and a temp of around 1.6. Now that direction is direct off the North Sea here. That's unheard of. Very special set up I think. BBC news 24, 21:30 forecast was basically porn (sorry that's a blatant ramp)
  21. Interesting. NAE has them below zero. You can also see there is slightly milder area of 2m temps just off the east coast today that is pushed away tomorrow as the North Sea fills with colder air from the continent. Very clear to view this on the zoom in 2m temps on NAE. Sometimes I wonder, don't I have anything better to do than analyse all air mass anywhere in the vicinity of Scotland over the next few days........
  22. Yeh agree. Chill out guys. The set up tomorrow evening onwards is about as good as it gets. As By Tor mentioned earlier, we have extremely dry continental air, which is unusual for the UK, dew points look to be very low, uppers between -8 / -9. 950,s still look to be negative for the next 2 full days. We can't ever promise snow and its so difficult to forecast in this country as the evil Gulf Stream keeps us relatively warm but while trying not to ramp, I think we have a good shot at some snow even close to the coast from the proposed set up, but as always this is subject to change. Just noticed that -10's are almost on the eastcoast on Saturday lunchtime.
  23. Yeh, that the Wednesday 12z (12:00) plus 48 hours, so image of Friday 12:00.
