Afternoon all, It's still quite blustery here this morning but I've been out walking and saw no evidence of much by way of wind damage from last nights big blow, just a few twigs and small branches down and virtually no leaves left on the trees, the main problem here is the flooding in the Ouzel valley..... Without breaking the no swimming or boating Parks trust rules it was almost impossible to get very far in any direction with some paths being under a couple of feet of water, the level was rising incredibly quickly as well and one path that was passable on the way was under several inches of water on the way back ! Evening all, I hope everyone has enjoyed the first half of their weekend as much as I have mine, the rain and even more so the laying water in the fields may have scuppered the plans of a longer walk than was had but the day couldn't have been nicer Certainly a night to stay in and keep warm by the fire now

Morning Bb and all, It was worth waiting for that's for sure...although short and sweet (like me) the rain was torrential as the squall line passed through here turning the road into a river in minutes... and horizontal rain is always exciting imo It's very cool and calm here this morning....and the best thing about it is it's Friday
  10. Squall line is passing through here as I type, had some torrential rain from this in the last few minutes, not as windy now but still lashing down with rain !

I've been out and about a bit...tying to get some extra walks in before the rain arrives, it's stayed dry but got increasingly gusty.....still only up to 20mph according to the weather station but it felt stronger that in places (Santa please bring me a hand held anemometer for Chringlemas) as you can see the river is ready to burst it's banks......

  16. I'm not surprised Mark, I noticed how high the river Ousel was yesterday and we've had probably somewhere near another 20mm of rain since then !
