  1. I can't see it turning out sunny today, it's been overcast here all morning. And we don't want clear spells over night....... we want more snow, so hopefully they will have got that bit wrong as well ! Out of interest do you know where they get their weather info from ? (Met Office ?????? )
  2. Helloooooooooooooo Where is everyone I hope a night off from the radar/lampost watching hasn't resulted in you all oversleeping What are the general thoughts on tonight/tomorrow, will the snow from the SW get as far as here ? Anyhow it looks like we could have a 'less cold' weekend ahead.
  3. What salt If the snow continues through January there won't be any anywhere, then things really could turn nasty
  4. Well we had our starters before Christmas, main course this week, so when is dessert ? Maybe Wednesday, and you never know by the 20th we could be saying 'pass the port' (lol) I wonder what everyone is doing now they are not on here - I've started a jigsaw puzzle that I had for Christmas, it is a lovely winter scene so at least I will still have some snow to look at if what's outside melts ! One good thing I can go to bed and not keep curtain twitching and lampost watching tonight
  5. Good afternoon everyone, it's just started to try and snizzle again. We had about 1cm of fresh snow last night which filled in the holes and has lasted well considering it was 'wet' in comparason with the 'powder' we had before. It has been a very overcast and grey day here all day and according to my car only just got above freezing. However, there has been a slow and steady thaw, my once very impressive icicles have either dropped off or are looking like pathetic drips to what they once were. I assume it will fall below freezing again tonight which will be interesting when the slush on the non salted roads freezes, I prefer my little used lane that still has lovely white compacted snow to the nasty black stuff that we will probably have hanging round for a while yet, but I suppose a slow thaw is better for those at risk of flooding. There seems to be a difference of opinion as to what, if anything we will get here on Wednesday, so looks like it will be wait and see !
  6. I'm torn between lampost/snow watching and my warm bed, think the bed might win in a minute when I've drunk my hot choc. Is it my eyes or has the wind changed/picked up ? The snow seems to keep changing direction as it's falling. Mind you probably me, think I need to go to specsavers, too much time spent stareing at fine snowflakes ! g'nite all, let's hope it's a good 'un !
  7. Same here, not sure when it started as Ive been watching Dancing on Ice on the TV
  8. Welcome back to the Play Pen Simon, I did predict today would be stormy with generall moodiness and a chance of severe flashes of temper, seems my forecast was accurate (lol)
  9. I've just been uploading some of my photos in the gallery and when I looked up it's snowing much harder now still not enough to settle and do anything much but more than we had earlier. Just realised what the time is and that I'm missing Ski Sunday, why is it the weekend always goes so fast !
  10. Quite a few flutters and flurries in the last hour here, not the fine snizzle I had earlier either, quite a few bigger lumps in the last few minutes. Hopefully things will improve as we get into the evening if the temperature falls.
  11. Personally I hope they got the downgrade wrong, although if they have it could catch a few people out Hands up if you want more snow \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/
  12. Yes, I've just come in from feeding my animals, 10 minutes of snizzle while I was outside and much colder than it was earlier.
  13. Blimy, where are you from it must be hot there ? (lol) I know what you mean really, I'm only teasing, you mean the snow is melting
  14. I remember your forecast from a few days ago saying the main snow fall would be tonight and into Monday, I'm not sure how to find it now to re post. Perhaps all is not lost yet and we might see a bit more snow this weekend ! Thanks TEITS
  15. Revised forecast for today: Stormy with general moodiness and a chance of severe flashes of temper....everyone is advised to seek shelter immediatly It has got much colder here in the last hour or two, I've just been out to feed my chooks and there is less drip dripping and something fine in the air like frozen drizzle. Okay so it's not what we wanted by hey ho we have already had two significant amounts of snow so far this winter and three within a year here in MK, so not bad and it's only January 10th. Update: Snizzle has stopped now, only lasted about 10 minutes !
  16. Morning everyone, NO SNOW over here in the far east (of MK) last night, I got up several times to check, infact the night before lasts light covering seems to have thawed from my car and driveway, still have plenty of lying snow though and some really impressive icicles ! At the moment it's overcast and dry and feels milder (although I've only been out as far as the back door) however the wind seems to have picked up considerably, are we possibly going to see something later today and into Monday ? Have a chillaxin' Sunday
  17. Totally agree, I took my test on a 'snow day' I had never driven in it before then, still managed to pass somehow. I do get nervous driving in it even though I have a 4 x 4, but it's everyone else who scares me
