Snowangel-MK

Over 100 Schools and Colleges closed today in MK (they would not do that for 3cm) Snow coming thicker and faster in the last 5 mins, pleased I went out when I did I can enjoy it now from inside. This is the back garden !

This is the view out the front of my house this morning. Just cleared a path to the front door and its started to snow quite heavily again since I came back inside. Anyone know how much more we can expect here today ? p.s. the white bit on the picture between my front garden and the park is the road by the way (we don't get any gritters round here)

No the bin lid (see picture) I'm over on the East side and very open, only got a park in front of me and allotments behind so maybe that is why I have more. I will put some pictures on in a moment !

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all happy with what you got during the night! Here in Milton Keynes we have a good 6 INCHES and it's still snowing, so more than happy with that. Schools closed and everything is cancelled for today so pancakes for breakfast, sledging and snowman building later ! They are still saying more to come for us today, anyone got an idea how much ?

I don't care where thay say I am as long as it carries on snowing like it is now, don't even need the lampost to see it now !

Starting to get a bit heavier over here in the East of MK, still quite small flakes (is that because it's so cold ?) but more of them now !

It would be really helpful if all the forecasts stopped refering to the 'home counties' as there seems to be confusion with some people as to where exactly this is. I understand it to be counties that surround London (but someone please put me right if this is not the case) so Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. With Bucks and Oxon stretching up as far as Northants it seems a bit hit and miss as there is a lot of ground covered here by one general forecast, I wish the weather people could be a bit more specific !

One thing is for sure whoever gets whatever tonight come breakfast news in the morning there will be snow reports from somewhere, with an outside broadcast from a place cut off in the snow (but the presenter and camera man somehow got through) and a report from a council depot where there is little or no salt left ! Just hope there is nothing more serious for them to report, take care everyone and wrap up warm

Should be with me soon then, all the cloud has been blowing over from that direction this afternoon

It's early days yet, lot's of people are still waiting for it to snow, you may have a surprise later ! Have you not noticed the dark clouds coming over from a W / SW direction, they could well give us something, it's certainly cold enough !

Thanks .....seen it now but not sure I like the sound of a 'Nuclear' winter ~ all I want is a some more snow !

Slow moving cloud coming in here from the W / SW so hopefully our region will ge lucky later this evening !

You must have a south facing window then, stick you head out of it and you will soon feel 'wintery' (lol), I've just been out to feed my chickens and believe me it's cold !

I've still got frost on my grass and path, has only cleared off the car in the last hour ! You must be in a hot spot, CMK I guess ? It is lovely but bitterly cold

Only inches ? Don't you think you should make an emergency one in feet just in case !

Let it snow. let it snow, let it snow just can't get that song out of my head today (lol) Ready and waiting here in MK just hope we are not going to miss out completly. Woke up to a lovely red sky and another thick frost, it actually looks like we have had some snow now with frost on frost, really pretty. Please let the snow start in daylight hours so I don't have to curtain twitch and lampost watch all evening and night

The Metcheck forecast looks good for me ..... 18hours of snow from 6am tomorrow morning .... bring it on

I hope you are right, I was getting worried we were going to miss out on the snow event and just be left out in the cold !

I will be keeping everything crossed I have just had a Met O E-mail 'Advisory' for Tue 5th & Wed 6th for MK, I wasn't expecting anything until Friday anyway so that would be a bonus if it happens

Same here although I do spend quite alot of the night looking out the window and lampost watching if it's snowing and then end up napping during the next day! Not really sure if I'm going to get anything snowie out of this week, everytime I hear a forecast it seems to change depending on who you listen too. I'm not any good at looking at the charts myself so have to rely on someone to tell me what's going to happen, at the moment I'm confused. I would love to think we were going to get something here sometime in the next week ? But I will settle for cold and crisp frosts against wet and dull weather anyday
