Pretty much game over here now. Thick layer of cloud and drizzly rain. How boring.
-
I'm still all a bit 'Hmmm' over the situation regarding tommorow. My negative side would say, I'm not excited because I can see this western area of the midlands missing out whilst the east midlands get's the brunt of a batch of severe storms. My positive side says, at least it should turn out to be a decent day of radar watching.
-
I watched it unexpectedly from my work place in Rugeley. Couldnt believe the intensity and frequency of the lighning, then the hail and rain.
-
Odd sleety flake here this morning, mostly rain though. Shows height is everything in situtations of marginality.
-
Tommorrow night dare i say looks potentially interesting indeed.
-
It seems to me as more runs come to fruition that this week maybe much less snowy than thought perhaps 36 hours ago?
-
Surely there must be some reasoning behind the MO sticking warnings out for tommorow, tuesday and wednesday? Even if one run has shown things much further south. I take it tehre expecting things to be further north.
-
Got around and inch and a half overnight. Tommorows looking like a near miss for me, although i did get 3CM from thursdays "close call" so i shant moan until the event is over. Tuesday looks interesting, possible the most intersting for my location anyway. Wednesday is north and south of here.
-
4am is abit earlier than i expected - but the alarm shall be set for then.
-
What time do we think the PPN arriving here?
-
Tonight looks interesting i'd imagine the northern half of the region could fare quite well if im honest. Monday looks very very marginal, that usually spells disaster for me. Middle of next week also has potential.
-
Had another beasty snow shower about 45 minutes ago, left another dusting on cars etc. Big 50p snowflakes, floating around in the air. Things starting to look very marinal for sunday/monday here - hopefully that low pressure doesn't come to far north allowing milder air in.
-
Ended up with about an inch last night, turned out much better than i originally expected. Just had another shower that covered roofs and grass again, massive flakes. Looks like tommorows snow chance has shifted south of here, although sunday could be interesting for a while. Next week is too much to consider atm, although i imagine there will be some snow around agian.
-
I see shefail mentioned the weekend as un-certain but there's likely to be some more wintry showers.
-
I was thinking sunday looked more interesting than saturday, particularly for this region of the midlands. The feature on saturday looks to hit central wales, then slip SE towards the london area. Probably missing this part of the midlands.
-
Starting to finally stick on bins and grass a little etc. Still nothing to note though.
-
Still snowing here. But only lightly and not sticking. Yet another let down.
-
Altitude difference showing again. Settling readily on the grass here, turning whiter and whiter, the shed roof also has a slushy dusting. As temperatures dip below freezing everywhere should get covered before long.
Now you'l understand why im apprehensive, downbeat and un-sure of every snow event - until its actually starting to lay.
-
Some light - occasionally moderate snowfall here and has been for the last 45 minutes or so, nowhere near the intensity to settle though. Accumulations are unlikely for me i fear, unless was get some incredibly heavy PPN.

I live about 6 miles or so away from you buddy, I know, but you cant keep all of the people happy for all of the time. whingeing aint really contributing a great deal to the thread though is it ?? Its a discussion board mate, every time I read one of your posts I can hear Suicide Is Painless by the Manic Street Preachers in my head lol Theres always next year for us mate chin up lol
Its just massively frustrating for us, considering its been an excellent winter cold wise - but the snow has missed us on most occasions from every single angle imagineable. Its annoying!
-
Bugger
Game over for us then nick.
-
Yep radar indeed suggests the system has reached its northern extent, now it should continue to feed eastwards as the LP starts to head eastwards as well.
Also worth noting the 12z gives another snow event for exactly the same places as have got it today, once again very marginal stuff BUT timing favours w.Midlands this time, very interesting stuff, I personally wouldn't mind it if it ended up a good bit further south haha!

Another snow event for what day?
-
YAWN .........................................................................
Mate - this place is a hell for the beloved white stuff
-
Light snow here now, pathetically small flakes though

15 or so miles too far west again for me. Going to be a dry and quiet night by the looks of things. Typical.
