  1. Im remaining positive which is unlike me as the front will stall over us for a good period of the night - perhaps into the early hours and its then that the transition "might/could/potentially" take place . I am aware though that this transition is in the balance and as i said last night i full expect my PPN to be off rain for most if not all of the night. This event was ALWAYS going to be so marginal for there to be a massive ruck of snow. Dare say my negativity was right last night - i hope not and there's plenty of time left - although i do fear im going to be proven right.

  2. Sorry for being so negative - you get used to it living in Rugeley. Lowest lying area for many miles around, a massive power station less than a mile from my house. Too far west when its an easterly wind, to far south when its a northwesterly, hopefully things will be better from the south - i do indeed think that tommorow for ME will be mostly sleet or rain - but hopefully things will be snowy - the PPN band does look like stalling around our area for most of the night as well - good times.

  3. Everyone looking forward to there snow? IM looking forward to the rain personally, well that's the PPN that will fall from my skies. The rest of the week looks cold and boring for our areas whilst all areas around get snowed in again. LOL the west midlands snow avoidance system has clearly been deployed again.

  4. Well i'm expecting rain , but I guess there is nothing like cuddleing up and watching only fools and horses with the rain banging on he window. And if it does turn to snow and leave a messy deposit on the floor well thats a bonus. I can not image a covering of snow here tomorrow with +5 850's +4 temp and well above freezing dues. But I like surprises.

I've got a football match at 11am tommorow so i hope its not snowing by then tbh, infact i hope its still dry. Expecting mostly rian here like you, 2nd time in 2 amazing events we're looking likely to get not much if anything, which is relatively annoying - still one positive is that we have at least 2 and a half months left of snowy weather potential.

  5. I don't think so. It seems that temperatures will be above freezing by the time the PPN arrives. The midlands today forecast earlier was a load of rubbish.

Too right it was but at least the foreacst went into the evening this time, i dont understand why the snow risk would re-ceed as it got further north, if anything the opposite effect should take place.

  6. Altitude will have a massive difference tomorrow night. Places like Pye Green which are more than 200m up will be at an advantage, Cannock Chase could be a very festive scene as well. Cannock itself isn't exactly on low ground. Either way, if I miss out I can always go up the road!

Lucky you no doubt you'll get absolutely pasted and it'll be sleet turning to rain here. SODS LAW.COM

  7. Well things tell me that tommorow shall be very marginal and 8's/10 for Rugeley that means rain or sleet at best. Cannock and etc all areas around are on higher land, thoose areas always get snow when we have rain, not only are we in a valley i live half a mile away from the power station, which has another affect onto pro-ceedings as well. Expecting rain here tommorow.

  8. Alright guys, just signed on but have been a frequent reader in the past. Nice to see so many midlanders around the place. This has to be the most shocking, dissapointing cold spell anti climax in recent history. Thursday showers were just to far to the east, last nights so called "significant snow" event brought 25 minutes of freezing rain & today the showers were literally at one point in toucing distance of my window, but fell slightly to the North and east. Pretty frustrating tbh.
