  1. been the same here today, not always showing on the radar either, very light snow that does nothing but its nice to see it coming down. Tonight however it is lying nicely.
  2. More or less the same story here. Keeps falling a lot better tonight though! Edit. Back to snizzle. I have a good feeling for the next few hours though, how long will it last??? I was sure we'd get some sort of Thames streamer before this weekend was out.
  3. I think once the weather saw the met office canceled the forecast it's decided to surprise them again! Fresh couple of cm here on top of what had only just started melting today.
  4. Some much better stuff here, covering on the only just cleared roads!
  5. still snowing lightly here but has been a slow thaw too as it got upto a mighty 1.7 Will take a long time at that rate.
  6. Been snowing very light here most of the night now. But looking at the radar things have burst into action but not heavy action, looks like the snow is proving once again to be best left to now cast. Anyone have any ideas as to whats going to happen now??
  7. I'm pretty sure its forecast to go that way, when im not 100% sure though. I got hit bang on by the Feb09 one, i think that was ENE.
  8. Winds coming nne, looking at the sat the cloud is streaming up from the se. I say a thames streamer! Getting bigger flakes here............. Will prob be a drizzle stream though.
  9. Pull up rain today and put in the first 4 digits of a post code from Croydon. Can't vouch for there but here further west we've had a few hours of light snow tonight. Basically frozen drizzle though, nothing at all of significance. yet.....
  10. How well could freezing rain be forecast?? I've seen it once and it is surreal. If that came down on what is already laying there would be so many accidents it doesn't bare thinking about.
  11. The thing with the BBC and sky is come this time of night the information they are using isn't always up to date. I have no idea whats going to happen as it always seems to be now cast with snow, especially streamers 5 miles wide. The met office could well agree that it doesn't look good for the south now but the BBC will be using the same info till the morning.
  12. I suggest those feeling bad go and have a read of the model thread as it sounds like its not over yet. RE tonight/tomorrow. Aren't the winds supposed to be turning to a more favorable flow in the next day or so? There has been snow streamers nearly everyday in the last few weeks for those getting a favorable flow. Surely we will see some more, there is some deep embedded cold inland, it won't shift easily. Apart from those close to the coast i dont think its anywhere near the end.
  13. Thats the exact amount on my car today when i tried and failed to dig it out from tue/wed. Unreal isn't it! We've had persistent light snow quite a lot of this eve, feeling very lucky going by some of the posts on here.
  14. Sounds promising, anything to lift the vibe in here when the country is under its worst winter for decades!
  15. I think emotion are speaking for some, its so hard when down the road has a huge pile and you haven't even got enough to sledge on. Looking at the sat and radar i think we are in transition, the convection has been killed and the warm upper air is coming in, i think we will see light snow but will it get more widespread?? if its established then the favored areas getting the breeze from the north see will see there snow peeped up. Does look like being the same areas but this is the nature of weather. I asked my weather gods for snow last week and got dumped on on Tue/wed which was more impressive than Feb. This week I'll ask them to dump the whole of the southeast to keep everyone happy. At the end of the day its an unreal winter many people didn't think was possible, maybe your turn next time...... In life i have found what you think about you get, so lets all think snow!!!!
  16. all looks lighter on the latest radar. What will happen next?? At least I've got a light band over me. Lets hope it strengthens soon.
  17. Can't believe my luck! big green blob over head, some blizzard like conditions!
  18. Some light flakes, its edging ever closer! Wind is really getting up. Still absolutely covered outside. With out doubt my best winter i can remember. (I'm in my low 30's)
  19. Looks like i maybe waiting longer than some for this next round. Fun watching the wind pick up and the roads get covered again with all the snow we have already. Looks like everyone will be happy by the end of this weekend. Skies slowly clouding over here with a very similar look to Tue midday which may be a good sign.
  20. Morning all, Indeed some more persistent snow is edging in. All day Wed here was blue's and the odd Green on the radar and the snow was very light for long periods. However, the sheer persistence is what really helped the totals around here. If its light showers it wont be great if its light persistent snow for 24z you maybe be very surprised at the totals.
  21. Right on the far edge of Surrey and just had a light flurry. Fingers crossed for the weekend, never scene as much snow as I've got, never scene it snow heavily again on snow that hasn't melted
  22. One heading straight for me if it can keep together, a lot more active tonight than first thought.
