  3. http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ Well if that lot doesn't arc over Gloucester way then I'm a ... snowman ! Good luck one and all (if you get the drift ..) John in Quedgeley, Gloucester
  4. Many thanks Ian and its a real privilage to have someone of your stature posting regularly here. Don't envy your job at times as it must be devilsh hard work working out those areas at risk. As a newbie I have really appreciated your input here ! Regards John in Quedgeley, Gloucester
  5. Dan the man on N24 neatly shows the development of the low with areas west and south west of London the target areas with the rap around also effecting Gloucestershire This really has been quite a changing situation today and probably still likely to change. May yet be a few surprises in store so good luck to those who have so far missed out. John in Quedgeley, Gloucester p.s. and still snowing, albeit lightly, here
  6. Withi you on that one Stormchaser and though its been pretty light stuff this last hour its still adding to the inch or two outside. What a great day eh ! John in Quedgeley, Gloucester
  7. Its as though someone has burst a thousand pillows above my head ! Enormous snow flakes ! But possibly signifying the back end. Just need the wrap around later ! John in Quedgeley, Gloucester
  8. And still hammering it down in Quedgeley, Gloucester. But.. will we get sideswiped by this wrap around low ? The bullseye towards Wiltshire ... 1 1/2 foot of snow ? Possible as it could really stick around for a day or more ! Good luck to those still waiting !!! God.. I'm so happy !! John
  9. Hammering it down here in Quedgeley, Gloucester !!! (snow of course) Now white everywhere and even trying to stick on the main roads ! John
  10. Yep - Alex Deacon on N24 just verified the snow risk area - but.. its likely to change.. but...Surely Gloucester can't miss out this time !?!? John F p.s. Not sure if the N24 weather was live/recorded....
  11. "Dan the man !" To get to these specifics within a 48 hr window is quite a call. We have been snowstarved here in the West Country/West Mids and quite frankly just a wee dusting on the ground would have me salivating at the chops !! Good luck all - but I think I'll wait till Tues evening forecast before I get excited though. John in Gloucester (Quedgeley)
  12. Yep - a good chance of a snowgrain fight with my daughter ! Hmmm - has it intensified slightly .. ? Cheers John in Quedgeley
  13. New user here ! Greetings all , particularly to those local. Yes - it would have been nice to have seen the odd flake yesterday here in Quedgeley, but it was always going to be marginal. Once again elevation wins out and my daughter will have to wait awhile to get the toboggan out. Anyone know if Painswick has any lying snow ? For now there is great anticipation in what the models are showing for the next couple of weeks. Will we get the beast from the east and will the forecasts of very low minima over our snowfields (?) come true. I see there is doubt about the encroaching system from the southwest this weekend but whatever happens.. its goddam exciting times. Cheers all ! John in Quedgeley, Gloucester
