Well I'm working on the fell tops around rookhope tomorrow so pretty much snow gaurentee.

According to the cold weather alert on the meto site we are at 70% risk of bad winter weather between now and monday. Only yorkshire can match us in the NE. NW 60%

Look north forcasting snow here for Saturday! Although they cant be trusted longer than 5 minutes in advance!

Not looking good for any snow this side of xmas I'd say.

I wouldnt put a penny on where it hits as its such a mobile setup. Its best guess at the minute and we probably wont know until its just about here! Stopped here now

Not laying yet seems to be just getting whipped around by the wind Whats the score for tomorrow? METO say "Some sunny spells but another cold day with strong winds and showers, the showers wintry, falling as hail, sleet or snow, snow falling even at quite low levels at times". Hannah on look north at 1:30 said a period of heavy snow for north east Wednedsay afternoon but Paul Mooney by 6:55 had no mention of anything for tomorrow?

Some big juicy flakes here now but hard to tell if its coming down heavy of if its just the gales making it look like its heavy.

The lamp post watching might not last much longer tonight cause looking like it might take flight any time now. Wonder if the stuff just to the west of here has migrated westward.Aha some big juicy flakes flying by now.

Just been to blanchland to pick wifey up from here mates and about quater a mile west of here the blizzard started and lasted all the way there and back to quater of a mile from mine. Nowt here but gales but blizzards 30 seconds drive away to the west. Someone in cumbria look east and blow hard.

2.3 here now with a savage wind. Going off the METO amber warning the boundary goes over my house so who knows what to expect. Seen 4 BBC forecasts today. 1 Local 3 national. Local and 2nd national had us all in for snow tomorrow afternoon but oddly 1st and 3rd national didnt show it at all. Plus 1st nationl had us down for 11 degrees for today!

86cms here in northumberland @850 feet on the edge of the pennines as of half an hour ago and its still coming down hard Most snow ive ever seen in my 30 years Drifts well over 6 foot in places

As well as tonight Thursday night into Friday looks like a good chance of a dumping !

Here on the edge of the Northumberland Pennines it hasnt got above 5.4 since 16th December 09. Min temp of -15.3 night and -6.3 day. Average temp here since 16th of December is nights -4.2 days 1.6. We have had 42 days of snow cover(I judge a depth of 4" + as cover) and 31 days of snow falling . This includes 33 days of consecutive snow cover 18/12/09-20/1/10. Max snow depth of 22 inches(55cms). On the higher fells within view snow has covered every day since 18/12/09. Thats up to date as of 23/2/10 9.05am with quite a bit more snow forcast this week to come.

Had a moderate shower here about 730 giving us another dusting and topping up yesterdays when the sun didnt get to. Looking very good for all of us overnight into Wednesday. Net weather hinting it will turn milder after the snow but most others keeping the cold over us. Whatever happens rush hour Wednesday morning looks like being fun!

Was heavy snow here around 6pm yesterday plus had some more over night. Depth of about 3 inches here now. Overnight temp was -6.2. Wednesday looks very interesting though.
