Hmm, stalling and dying at about Swansea. Uppers look ok for you at 6am. DPs are marginal.
Will be interesting to see what it produces as it rolls across tomorrow evening. You never know!
There's going to be some prozac in the Midlands thread.
-
Euro 4 outlier? - probably. Another upgrade of that nature would put many of us back in the game.
It's only got to: a) upgrade at short notice b) actually happen. Damn!
Amazing lack of consensus at 24hrs out really.

With Dew points like this, South Wales can certainly look forwards to lovely cold rain tomorrow evening. The warm sector will indeed do what it says on the tin! Better chances North and elevated obviously.
This is at same time as the higher intensity PPN
Hopefully the showers that follow may throw in something a little more white. All based on EURO4 00z.
Cracking morning out there however.

Interesting that they talking about sweet spots Lol ,I give you a sweet spot Snowdonia
Yup, no doubt! GFS at the same time has the front pushing through without a scrap of any worth. 48hrs and still no consensus, therefore the vague forecast on the telly i guess. Nice to see the pros earning their salaries! Anyone know what Fergie is saying?
-
Interesting fax chart takes 14hrs for the front to move to 100miles west to east
It'a certainly a 'staller'. Temperatures are looking marginal for most of the principality. I think that PPN may be at a premium however. Euro4 has the front smashed to pieces by the time it hits our shores. Should make for decent radar watching Tuesday afternoon and evening though!
-
EURO4 goes out 48hrs, and the latest run as at 6am this morning, goes to 6am Tuesday.
Even at this stage, precipitation looks rather patchy.
The next update will be circa 5pm-6pm, and this will take us up to noon Tuesday.
Yes J1, spotted, sparse moisture although the thing looks to be stalling. DPs inland ok, but at present certainly very marginal for most.

for a split second there Gareth moo I thought your profile pic was a chart for this week.dont think I have ever sat up so quick....maybe a little nap is required this afternoon.late nights and early mornings don't mix
I wish! However, we do have a sniff this week. Better chance you up the valley than us lot below Caerphilly.

How I see the coming week developing:
Good work TonyH. A sound objective assessment of the synoptics. Brave too!
Is the NAE (or whatever its called now) in range for Tuesday yet? May have to take a quick peek.

Feeling mild earlier this evening after snow and ice lingering in north facing and shaded areas all day. UK radar showing imminent arrival of new air mass. Next week looks like knife edge viewing all the way. Looking forwards to it whatever the outcome. Hats off to the pros at making head or tail of this set of variables.

A word of warning. Do not go into the Mod thread this morning.
I still think the cold and snow is on but the biggest and baddest nay sayers are up early and ganging up to try and do the proverbial on everyone's chips.
I love the Model thread. More drama than Eastenders.

Last shower was a good one. Hail with some flakes showing up for the first time. Lightning overhead. Temp now at 1.5c.
-
Heads of the valleys road looking interesting.
-
After a couple of hours of being fairly static at 3 degrees, the temp is finally going in the right direction again. 1.7c now.
-
Sharp temperature drop here. 2 degrees in an hour. DP falling too. 3 degrees now in Machen, Caerphilly. Hopefully just the right side of marginal later.
-
Violent squall line = at least 12 golf umbrellas in the bin at Machen rfc. Funny.
-
Glad of the 3 hour respite between rainbands. If the second had caught up witht the first then judge for yourself what could have happened tonight.

Going to get the lawn mower back out!
-
What's that? Streamer from the NE? It's properly cold out there. Someone at altitude in the Eastern valleys is going to get something white out of this, surely.
-
Growing concensus from the models of winter's arrival next week..

Seems the heaviest ppn is developing along English South Coast. Hope that the wind stays South of there too.
-
Not sure that we'll see any great accumulations from this but should be a great 24 hrs+ of weather watching. The unstable air should throw everything but the kitchen sink at us. As it turned out a couple of weeks back, the unstable stuff from the South was more fun to track than the main event Thurs into Friday. Enjoy!!

That last strike literally shook the house. That must have been pretty close.
Isn't there a radar and / or mapping site that records lightning strikes? What's best folks? Cheers in advance......

The Caribbean Pineapple Express has arrived bang on time. Kind of missed the rain smashing against my window!
12c by Tueday is a bit excessive however. It could have let us down a little more gently!
-
This is my favourite snow snap. Met a bloke on a Honda C90 who wasn't going any further that day.

Nice streamer setting up in the English channel. Such a waste that its going to hose somebody down with rain.
