  1. Hi PB, we've just had a short shower in Portsmouth but gone now! I love Cyprus especially the abandoned city in Famagusta which is very spooky to look at through the wire fences! Talking of spooky and completely unweather related, mum's just phoned to say that a candle holder has fallen over in the lounge and then a CD case started moving by itself (witnessed by mum and dad). I blamed it on the slightly breezy conditions!

Now I can hear noises from the kitchen, but it's probably the cat!

  2. Hi everyone, Sunday again (the weekend goes too quickly!) I've been watching the raintoday radar with interest because although we seem to be lucky enough to miss the rain I think I can see some squall lines so I wonder if that's been of any interest to anyone caught in it.

The model thread doesn't fill me with much inspiration so I've been looking at holidays instead, Cyprus for us this year 8)

  3. Plenty of clear snow falling here.

Sorry, it's as good as it gets for the foreseeable future.

Great news! Just looked at the radar and we're lucky that it seems to have been more westerly in nature otherwise my pending journey on the M27 would not be fun! It's mega heavy so those that see the transient snow will certainly be happy! At least it's Friday and this time tomorrow I'll still be asleep :lazy:

  4. So I figure the only thing we can discuss is the amount of rainfall.

Down here we've seen 13.3mm in the last two days, and more on the way tomorrow, will we make the 25mm mark before the end of the week.

Temps did take a recent drop now at 3.9°C.

Somebody walked in today and said 2-5cms of snow tomorrow, and he then asked me why I was rolling around on the floor ROFL.

I said you've been watching the Met Office forecasts :whistling:

Thereby begineth the first lesson, take yea little notice of Met Office weather warnings unless graineth of sand be holdeth.

    Thereby endeth the first lesson,

LOL - the advisories for our area have gone now as expected too. It was cold today but at least it stopped for rush hour getting home. Can't wait for the next batch of boring water from the sky

  5. Evening all,

I'd like a raging easterly with constant PPN producing nothing but snow. Well unfortunately nothing like that is on the cards so ho hum. Anyway, I'm off to more northerly parts tomorrow for Christmas. No snow forecast at the moment but there is lying snow so I'll have a white Xmas of sorts hopefully and it'll be very cold (near Buxton). Have a great Xmas everyone! :smiliz19:

  6. Evening all,

I hate this awful rain!!! I have to say I was delighted to be at work today (Chilworth at bottom of M3) - it snowed beautifully for a few hours, really heavy sometimes too - the office closed early as it was really coming down and I got back to Pompey to rain. :nonono: And it's still raining...... to make matters worse, imagine how much snow that would have produced (oh those further inland don't have to imagine lol) Ahr well, a night of the soaps for me instead :smiliz19:

  7. Right, that's nailed it then, from Hants through to Oxfords. Yah could have included Dorset, but then again I think we both know it ain't gonna happen down here. Again one of those times you wished you lived somewhere else. No snow in the winter of '09, now no storms in the summer of '10.

What the heck did I do to upset the weather gods?

Don't worry - I live in Hampshire on the coast and I don't think there's a chance of even a rumble so you're not alone!! I used to think that living down here was good for storms......... :girl_devil:
