  1. All the parties round here ended rather quickly as I dived under the stairs, how long will I have to stay here? Must admit I'm not as petrified as I used to be I think it's because I have a decent phone and can radar watch.

    Steve

It's all quiet now Steve so you're probably ok, I won't pretend to know how you feel apart from imagining being surrounded by spiders which are my phobia!

  2. Well just had a couple of drops of rain - did hear a bang/see flash which got me excited until I looked outside and it was fireworks ha ha. Really pleased that our neighbours in Sussex are being treated - nice to see coastal regions getting some action - let's hope it can travel a bit further west! :drinks:

  3. Its always the same in here...

Just wait a bit guys, The skies are still very murky. These clouds still have time to burn away.

Its ONLY! 14:00hrs.. Give it some more time!

You can quite clearly see that behind this mass thats passing east to west is convection.

I would be shocked if nothing happens..

    Also note.

I have a BBQ out and ready, this in itself will cause severe storms and rain.

Ahrr, that gave me the giggles, you're right and waiting is part of the fun.

  4. Looking at the radar I'm wondering if we'll get some hail too! Gone cloudy now after some lovely sunshine this morning

My stepson was watching stormchasers this morning when I got up which was great as I've got him into it now (he's only 12 and asked when he would be old enough to go chasing bless him)

  5. Hello - yes it's beautiful outside so I'm going to make the most of it! I think we're in for some more gloomy Atlantic muck but may have some drier periods compared to the north/northwest so that's not as bad although I've read that they might have thunder, hail, sleet, snow and gales so I think I would prefer a north/south swap!!

Not overly confident about anymore wintry weather down here but I'll start looking forward to some hopefully thundery weather later in the year!

  6. And what a dreadful morning this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every time I woke in the night it was bucketing down with rain and when I left to walk to town at 8:00am it was still bucketing down with rain.

To make matter worse the wind was continually turning my umbrella inside out and as I passed a flooded area of road a National Express coach went by at at well over the 30 mph limit and right through the very middle of the massive puddle even though there was nothing coming on the other side of the road and he could have easily avoided the water!!! Yes, I was totally drenched from head to foot by a massive wave of water that covered me literally head to toe, I even had water flowing down inside the collar of my coat and into my waterproof walking shoes. :aggressive: I was left shouting imprecations to the back of a rapidly departing coach.

So I ended up leaving wet areas on the doctors waiting room chairs as jeans take a long time to dry. :whistling: It was the wet jeans honest.

Hello coldfingers! Sorry to hear about your wet day - I left mega early for work this morning and the motorway was still a carpark at 7am lol - blooming weather! Don't visit the model thread or you'll feel even worse - I'd love for another eastern trough thingamejigamy to come our way like it did in December but I think that was a one off lol for this winter if the model thread is to be believed lol :nonono:
