All the parties round here ended rather quickly as I dived under the stairs, how long will I have to stay here? Must admit I'm not as petrified as I used to be I think it's because I have a decent phone and can radar watch.
Steve
It's all quiet now Steve so you're probably ok, I won't pretend to know how you feel apart from imagining being surrounded by spiders which are my phobia!

Don't give up yet still time for something to happen, I'm down at Christchurch quay looking over to the iow, fingers crossed
Definitely don't give up - I nearly did but I was pleasantly surprised!! Now enjoying a tipple and listening to Parisienne Walkways by Gary Moore, bliss!
-
Just had a lovely little storm! Saw some fabulous fork lightning too - best was a 'duo' going sideways across the sky! I was despondent earlier but much happier now - even found a fiver on the way back from the shop, not a bad end to the day!!
-
Just had a lightning flash! Just off to the top floor (3 storey house) to see if there's anymore!!
-
Well just had a couple of drops of rain - did hear a bang/see flash which got me excited until I looked outside and it was fireworks ha ha. Really pleased that our neighbours in Sussex are being treated - nice to see coastal regions getting some action - let's hope it can travel a bit further west!

Its always the same in here...
Just wait a bit guys, The skies are still very murky. These clouds still have time to burn away.
Its ONLY! 14:00hrs.. Give it some more time!
You can quite clearly see that behind this mass thats passing east to west is convection.
I would be shocked if nothing happens..
Also note.
I have a BBQ out and ready, this in itself will cause severe storms and rain.
Ahrr, that gave me the giggles, you're right and waiting is part of the fun.

It is a bit frustrating as there are some lovely cloud formations but it's still quite hazy - reminds me of my cooking, I think I've got the right ingredients but there's one thing missing and it might not come out as planned
-
Just had rain here after all, nothing exciting, shame!
-
Looking at the radar I'm wondering if we'll get some hail too! Gone cloudy now after some lovely sunshine this morning
My stepson was watching stormchasers this morning when I got up which was great as I've got him into it now (he's only 12 and asked when he would be old enough to go chasing bless him)
-
I'm in Portsmouth and there are some very menacing clouds about but haven't heard or seen anything yet! Here's hoping
-
Hello (although I expect most have gone into hibernation just like I'm going to) - lovely rain here at the moment, jealous about the snow that northern areas are getting from about Leeds upwards - even if the models are showing mild from now on at least they've had some snow first! Oh well, back to bed and looking at the radar it will be dry later which is one good thing I suppose.
-
Evening all, it's my birthday on the 20th so I'll put my request in for a snow flurry on that day please!
-
I did actually coldfingers! And I love Cheval, the huge fella with the long hair who plays for France (but his hair was tied back tonight) - he reminds me of a caveman who could....anyway I'll move on lol
-
This weather is truly dull and uninspiring with nothing that exciting on the horizon except more of the same. At least I'm watching the italians play rugby (and I'm interested in the rugby, honest! )
-
Hello - yes it's beautiful outside so I'm going to make the most of it! I think we're in for some more gloomy Atlantic muck but may have some drier periods compared to the north/northwest so that's not as bad although I've read that they might have thunder, hail, sleet, snow and gales so I think I would prefer a north/south swap!!
Not overly confident about anymore wintry weather down here but I'll start looking forward to some hopefully thundery weather later in the year!

Hello all!
Thank you very much for your kind messages x We had a few snow grains in the air this morning but apart from being cold that's it for now I think! The model thread doesn't seem to hold out much hope either but you never know!
-
Evening all, hope everyone is well even if the weather is quite unexciting. I'm very sad right now as a good friend passed away yesterday so it could be snowing blizzards and I probably wouldn't notice. I will go out this weekend and try to appreciate whatever the weather as we just don't know what's round the corner. Take care all x
-
Ah we've just had the really heavy pulse of rain but alas no thunder  so my hopes have gone down the drain a bit, together with the rain! Well, time for bed now - good luck everyone!
-
We now have a weather warning for our area and West Sussex - doesn't mention thunder but the south west warnings don't either so anything can happen! Bet I'll be asleep if we get any lol
-
Meto warnings & radar tracking make it look pretty likely for you.
Hi, thank you!! I only looked at the met office a few mins ago and the warning was for the south west so thought we might have dipped out - just checked again after reading your post and we have a warning too now as you say. Fingers crossed
-
I've just read about reports of thunder in Weymouth too - yes let's hope they come east too - only heard one tiny measly bit of thunder last year so it would be good to be out of the no storms club in mid January lol
-
Hi, great to hear reports of a thunderstorm especially in January! I'm watching the radar and it does look lively - hope something makes its way over here too!
-
Hello neighbours! I am definitely interested in thunderstorm potential and did see that GFS has a storm forecast of 51% for my area so you never know! I can see some hectic rain on the way by the radar but not sure if it will reach this far east as it appears to be rotating?? If we can't get any snow then bring on the storms lol

And what a dreadful morning this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every time I woke in the night it was bucketing down with rain and when I left to walk to town at 8:00am it was still bucketing down with rain.
To make matter worse the wind was continually turning my umbrella inside out and as I passed a flooded area of road a National Express coach went by at at well over the 30 mph limit and right through the very middle of the massive puddle even though there was nothing coming on the other side of the road and he could have easily avoided the water!!! Yes, I was totally drenched from head to foot by a massive wave of water that covered me literally head to toe, I even had water flowing down inside the collar of my coat and into my waterproof walking shoes. I was left shouting imprecations to the back of a rapidly departing coach.
So I ended up leaving wet areas on the doctors waiting room chairs as jeans take a long time to dry. It was the wet jeans honest.
Hello coldfingers! Sorry to hear about your wet day - I left mega early for work this morning and the motorway was still a carpark at 7am lol - blooming weather! Don't visit the model thread or you'll feel even worse - I'd love for another eastern trough thingamejigamy to come our way like it did in December but I think that was a one off lol for this winter if the model thread is to be believed lol

Looks like you're in for round 2! Really should think about getting to bed but I don't want to miss anything and I enjoy reading everyone's reports!
