Morning, currently snowing in Portsmouth (wasn't expecting to see that!) little flakes but enough to give a dusting on the cars and pavements etc.
-
Dusting of snow in Horndean, nothing falling at the moment, neither snow nor rain.
-
It is snowing in Southampton! It's about one tiny flake every 10 seconds but it's definitely snow!
Right, tomorrow is officially a day off and I'm off to walk the dog
1.6C, DP -2.2C, 76% humidity.
C'mon snow, Horndean is just along the road, will go out for a look see!
-
Nothing here yet in Horndean, 9 miles north of Portsmouth..............
-
I've explained the situation at work to my colleages and after about 2 mins of why it could happen (SSW and all that) there eyes glaze over lol!!
Evening all, I'm quite lucky at work as my colleagues are interested and we've put our snow plans in place just in case (although I've stressed that being on the south coast will probably mean rain but you never know!) We're having another stab at moving house now so fingers crossed we can sell and get out of Portsmouth so I can be a little bit more optimistic with any snow chances being away from the coast!
-
Evening all,
No thunder here today much to my disappointment but torrential rain and hail for a time which caused the main road and pavements to flood this afternoon.
-
Lovely post Ian
So snow tonight or snow chance?
I would really like to see some tonight as I didn't get the job and I would rather put off the post mortem in work tomorrow.
Hi dancing daisy! Sorry to hear about the job :-( hope there will be more opportunities coming your way soon . Radar looking very clear at the moment - 'weather' that changes later remains to be seen - sorry I love my puns!
-
One clap of thunder here and hail
-
Hello,
All very boring and fairly cloudy here although I did see a storm last weekend at mums (nothing in Portsmouth though). Looking forward to moving more inland in the hope of getting slightly more interesting weather - it will certainly improve snow chances in the winter if nothing else!
-
Some lovely rumbles here in horndean north of Portsmouth
-
Hello looking at the radar it seems to be heading north for now so I'm off to sleep now but I bet we get rain if nothing else!
-
I hope everyone that wants a storm gets one! My 82 year old nan told me that she's going to sleep with the curtains open tonight in the hope that some lightning will wake her up as she loves a storm too bless her!
-
hello all, interesting BBC South forecast just now with the 'thunderstorm' word mentioned more than once! Will be interesting to see what happens although I'll probably be fast asleep when the rain comes!
-
Lightning now in the channel, loud thunder heard over the Tv...
I thought I heard something thunder like but put it down to a lorry or similar, maybe it was then although I didn't think anything thundery was forecast.
-
You got me! Lmao....!
I think you're both in the same boat! Sorry, I love the 'association' type of jokes and couldn't resist!
-
Portsmouth is in a dry bit and we look a bit too far west to be in for any heavy rain at the moment, good job really as I watered the plants earlier!
-
Morning, Met office mentions possibility of thunder for south of London tonight and tomorrow.
-
Evening, there does seem to be a few bits and pieces seemingly building 'out of nowhere' and that one near guernsey has definitely built up quite a lot - it seems to be heading more for Sussex than Hampshire but you never know. I hope some people get a good surprise later on!
-
Good evening all, South today weather just mentioned a possible thundery breakdown on Monday night into Tuesday but as ever time will tell!
-
Bubbling up, was a a slight CAP yesterday here near the East Coast, took a while for one large cell to bust it, could just see it building to a certain height and flattening.
Think today is a much better day, and I have no doubt conditions are entirely favorable.
Just took a picture, clearly shows how it's bubbling up nicely with some lovely picturesque towers around.
Lewis
Hello all,
Our skies are similar here on the south coast - I'm going house viewing in a minute further inland so at least I'll be out and about! Great forecast videos by the way Lewis - you have a very calming voice!
-
Hi every one some meaty rain showing on the radar in France I wonder if they're thundery. Overcast here and a bit chilly
-
To be honest that's what I thought it would be all along a southerly wind so seeing this snow is a bonus for me I don't fancy driving in it anyway as I'm a chicken when it comes to driving in snow lol
-
I really must go to sleep but this lamp post is addictive big ish flakes still and a bit heavier. Wish it was friday night so I didn't have work in the morning
-
Flakes are getting bigger here although the rate its falling has slowed very slightly if you know what I mean! Cat is mesmerized on the window sill lol

Stopped here now much to the relief of my other half who isn't mad about snow like me! I prefer snow at the weekend though (not that I'm fussy or anything!) Now that it's stopped I can resume my Sunday Have a good day everyone.
