  1. 26.9C in Norwich. 13.4C in Blackpool. A whole 11C down on yesterday!
  2. It's not just the storms either. The NW might have been the warmest region today (on the whole). We're usually let down by coastal areas in terms of temperature but the temperature rose above 24C even there with places inland breaching 25C.
  3. Just started raining but the cell hasn't arrived yet. I suspect it'll stay light for the next ten minutes then all will go calm again until the cell hits! St Annes getting battered.
  4. Southport is getting battered now. I'll probably give it another 20 minutes until I lose hope! (reminds me a lot of us in Cold Spell threads in winter and night of the streamers) Hope renewed, cell has hit the fylde coast! I suspect I'm in for a treat in the next 40 mins!
  5. Another cell is developing over Lytham/St Annes now!
  6. Confident I'll get to join in the fun now, NW England been the best for weather today! Just as hot as the SE, lovely and sunny and now massive storms!
  7. St Helen's is a good place to be right now! Right in the thick of it.
  8. OH MY GOD, that's great! I hope they make it to me!
  9. I think temps for tomorrow are being underestimated for our region too. And yeah, seems likely. Much warmer than this time yesterday!
  10. Correct. Temperature forecast for NW England were way out!
  11. Small showers to the south but I doubt I'll get anything.
  12. 23.2C and very humid. How hot will I get today?!
  13. Maxed out at just above 23C earlier. Temperature plummeting now after a sharp shower that came out of no-where just now. No thunder though!
  14. Extremes of temperature, rainfall and sunshine for the 24 hours ending 18/04/2011 Highest day max: Blackpool: 19.9C Lowest day max: Fair Isle: 9.5C Lowest night min: Katesbridge: -0.9C Highest rainfall: Norwich Airport: 0.4mm Highest sunshine: Camborne : 12.6 hours -- Surprised my town was the warmest yesterday. It's not often we get that!
  15. 19C outside so we've exceeded our forecast of 17C for today. Clear blue skies and blazing sunshine too though we were forecast to be cloudy! Feels like mid-June to be perfectly honest!
  16. Been looking for Blackpool records but struggle to find any. I'm pretty sure we got above 30c in 2006.
  17. Still cannot find records for that day
  18. What were the temperatures like around the UK that day?
  19. Expected to see lots of posts about the thunderstorm that hit this area last night but no-one seems to have experienced it?
  20. 8.4C, wall-to-wall sunshine and light westerly wind. Feels glorious!
  21. UK Outlook for Saturday 19 Feb 2011 to Saturday 5 Mar 2011: Rainfall is more likely to be average or below, perhaps even well below average, with sunshine average or above average. The sunniest areas are likely to be in the west and the south of the U.K. but it is likely to be colder or much colder than the average over the whole of the U.K at first but with northern parts, especially Scotland, likely to see temperatures recovering to average or above the average by the end of February or into early March.
