The heavy showers forecast for Angus have in fact affected Fife too. Wet again in NE Fife with lots of standing water on the roads and potholes.
Im on holiday next week and heading up to Crieff. Praying for slightly drier weather!

Low this morning of +1.8c, again very cold for October here on the coast. -1c was the low up at Leuchars.
@Kirkcaldy Weather I don’t have a reliable rain gauge but going by the SEPA figures we were slightly above your 3 day total at 30.8mm. That compares with just shy of 60mm on the 7th/8th which explains why the roads were much worse here earlier in the month!

Just heading down to Fife now for my niece's wedding. Looks like they wont be hanging around long for outside photies etc. Hope roads are ok?
Should be okay. They were worse around here during the wet spell two weekends ago. The rain has been steady rather than heavy locally. The A92 is still closed at Rathillet though. Hope the day goes well.
The screenshot from SEPA shows how it was much wetter here a couple of weeks back

Amazing the range of rainfall totals across relatively short distances in Fife (from the SEPA website). We've had 21mm in the last 36 hours (at St Monan's which is about a mile from me) but further down the coast at Kinghorn just 4mm. Strathkinnes, which is near St Andrews has had 54mm and then when you cross the Tay the numbers really ramp up. Highest I've seen is 177mm (Waterside Perth, NW of Edzell).

Rain back on here, I suspect the dry slot will be short-lived! Winds gusting to 75mph Inverbervie and 63 Leuchars.

The rain band has shifted north for now, it’s dry here in Pittenweem. Southern edge looks close to Dundee for now. Wind gusting to 70mph ish on the immediate coast.

My daughter has just told me that all trains South from Aberdeen have been cancelled from tonight. A bit premature I would think for earlier tomorrow but I suppose that they are worried because of the crash near Stonehaven a couple of years ago. She was supposed to be coming down on the train Friday afternoon as my niece is getting married in NE Fife on Saturday but is now getting a bus early tomorrow. People are travelling from all over for the wedding with a lot coming up from Somerset as that is where the groom is from so hoping not too much disruption over the next couple of days.
Good luck with the wedding plans!
We’re just outside the Amber zone for rain but St Andrews is inside it. All a bit academic of course, it’s going to be nasty. Stay safe!

Nice sunrise here too and another beautiful sunny morning. First air frost if the season for me though yesterday only just missed. Still -0.1C just now.
Yes it was stunning. Cold night here too, unusual to have to scrape the car here in coastal East Neuk in mid-October. I mean we didn’t have our first air frost until December 8th last year! Min was 2.1c here in Pittenweem but -1c along the road at Leuchars. Feels nice now in the sun and with no wind.

I drove up to Andrews and back but probably shouldn’t have. A lot of standing water in NE Fife. Staying home for the rest of the day.

If you had stayed! Local farmers helping move caravans etc but now too deep even for them.https://m.facebook.com/groups/551303978385712/permalink/2460302780819146/
Wow. Awful scenes.
Very wet here this morning, heaviest spell yet. We were sitting on 75mm for this event but this morning’s deluge will have added to that. Given we only average ~650mm a year in the coastal East Neuk it’s a substantial chunk of the annual rainfall.- 4

About 18mms here so far today on top of around 8mms before midnight. Temp 7.5c with a fresh Easterly wind.
@Hawesy The caravan park in Aberfeldy is flooding and people are rushing to get their caravans out.
@Norrance Sometimes following the weather is a practically useful as well as fun hobby! Hope everyone gets out. Saw the photos from Beinglas campsite on the West Highland Way (a favourite). It’s basically under water.
A number of road closures now, things are getting serious. Take care, folks.

I feel that I should know where you took the photos. Ben Y Vrackie? The camp site in Aberfeldy could well be under water by Sunday. Here cloud has built through the day and rain has just started.
Yes indeed, walk up the hill and then to Killiecrankie and back along the river to Pitlochry.

Been a slow burn so far. Not really that windy and rain has been heavy at times, about 10mm so far.
Not as much of a storm as Sunday was but plenty time to pick upYeah, similar here. I was down south on Sunday but it was pretty bad here with a couple of downed trees. Anyway not a pleasant evening!

Change in wind direction today to the ESE (and quite fresh at that) leading to a very noticeable effect on temperature, currently 20.5c compared to the 24c this time yesterday.
Still wonderful out there though thanks to be unbroken sunshine, more of the same please.
The diurnal range yesterday afternoon to this morning very notable - we had a max of 27.6c around 4pm yesterday and an overnight low of 4.0c.
Yes same here, some 7c cooler (18c v 25c) than yesterday afternoon due to the North Sea Aircon. Still a pleasant early Autumn day but the wind is noticeable!

Another lovely September day and warmer, 25c at Leuchars (27c at Aberdeen and Aboyne). August is forgotten.
It will turn cooler here after tomorrow with the risk of haar as the wind shifts.

Well, after a drab August, September has started out in grand fashion with two lovely days. 22c in NE Fife today under mostly sunny skies. Very welcome!

Another uninspiring August day here, mostly cloudy although at least it was dry, unlike yesterday when I got soaked walking the coastal path (forecast was a bust). Definitely a month to forget, I see Eskdalemuir is sitting on the grand total of 54 hours of sunshine so far!

Afternoon all,
A very mild and breezy 36 hours with the temperature locked in between 11c and 14c. A strong and gusty wind which is now veering WNWly. Cooler conditions now filtering down from the north.
