Just heading down to Fife now for my niece's wedding. Looks like they wont be hanging around long for outside photies etc. Hope roads are ok?

Should be okay. They were worse around here during the wet spell two weekends ago. The rain has been steady rather than  heavy locally. The A92 is still closed at Rathillet though. Hope the day goes well.

The screenshot from SEPA shows how it was much wetter here a couple of weeks back

  2. Amazing the range of rainfall totals across relatively short distances in Fife (from the SEPA website). We've had 21mm in the last 36 hours (at St Monan's which is about a mile from me) but further down the coast at Kinghorn just 4mm. Strathkinnes, which is near St Andrews has had 54mm and then when you cross the Tay the numbers really ramp up. Highest I've seen is 177mm (Waterside Perth, NW of Edzell).

Nice sunrise here too and another beautiful sunny morning. First air frost if the season for me though yesterday only just missed. Still -0.1C just now.

Yes it was stunning. Cold night here too, unusual to have to scrape the car here in coastal East Neuk in mid-October. I mean we didn’t have our first air frost until December 8th last year! Min was 2.1c here in Pittenweem but -1c along the road at Leuchars. Feels nice now in the sun and with no wind.

If you had stayed! Local farmers helping move caravans etc but now too deep even for them.https://m.facebook.com/groups/551303978385712/permalink/2460302780819146/

    Wow. Awful scenes.
Very wet here this morning, heaviest spell yet. We were sitting on 75mm for this event but this morning’s deluge will have added to that. Given we only average ~650mm a year in the coastal East Neuk it’s a substantial chunk of the annual rainfall.

About 18mms here so far today on top of around 8mms before midnight. Temp 7.5c with a fresh Easterly wind.

@Hawesy The caravan park in Aberfeldy is flooding and people are rushing to get their caravans out.

@Norrance Sometimes following the weather is a practically useful as well as fun hobby! Hope everyone gets out. Saw the photos from Beinglas campsite on the West Highland Way (a favourite). It’s basically under water.

A number of road closures now, things are getting serious. Take care, folks.

I feel that I should know where you took the photos. Ben Y Vrackie? The camp site in Aberfeldy could well be under water by Sunday. Here cloud has built through the day and rain has just started.

Yes indeed, walk up the hill and then to Killiecrankie and back along the river to Pitlochry.

Been a slow burn so far. Not really that windy and rain has been heavy at times, about 10mm so far.
Not as much of a storm as Sunday was but plenty time to pick up

Yeah, similar here. I was down south on Sunday but it was pretty bad here with a couple of downed trees. Anyway not a pleasant evening!

Change in wind direction today to the ESE (and quite fresh at that) leading to a very noticeable effect on temperature, currently 20.5c compared to the 24c this time yesterday.

Still wonderful out there though thanks to be unbroken sunshine, more of the same please.

The diurnal range yesterday afternoon to this morning very notable - we had a max of 27.6c around 4pm yesterday and an overnight low of 4.0c.

Yes same here, some 7c cooler (18c v 25c) than yesterday afternoon due to the North Sea Aircon. Still a pleasant early Autumn day but the wind is noticeable!
