Drooling over this, Long way out. This Is the Stratosphere in 384 hours time!!!!!! The polar Vortex has Collapsed over the uk!!!!! What with the ECMWF predicting a prolonged cold spell & the Stratosphere forecast producing this!!! Remember this "Might happen" but is very encouraging from Today's ECMWF & even the Met office model hinting at blocking....... I love twitter.- 800 replies

Right picture time. This one not really pleasing to the eye, But when you read why it shows what a crazy world we live in. Some may have seen this already, For those that are poorly hopefully a little giggle to yourself will help you feel that little bit better. I know we have our own exceptional Strat thread but sometimes I get lost with the jargon. The image and description below sums up nice laymen term description. Also very excited about this. Lower zonal strat. winds = weaker polar vortex = better chance of northern blocking and cold at the mid-latitudes. Potential SSW? Maybe...- 800 replies

Completely agree Coast output atm is very very frustrating indeed. Such a fine line in the models, The slightest adjustments can have major outcomes. Hopefully the Jet will descend further towards the med, That would open the floodgates.- 800 replies

Sorry PS ,Could not resist.. Its like it everywhere now the street lights go off, St albans and surrounding areas are the same. Its ok Insurance companies will start billing the councils for all the premiums they have to pay out on. Councils will realise its cheaper to put lights on.- 800 replies
