  1. After about 45 mins of lights snow, it stopped for about 15 mins. Now it's started again. I'm right on the edge of the heavy stuff so expect it to pep up a bit very soon
  2. Morning everyone - watching the radar in anticipation. Over in the Midlands thread, It's just started snowing in Northampton, which is to the west if me, so shouldn't be long before it gets to me here in west Cambs. Looking at the radar, I reckon the first band will hit within the hour. Might just get it before Peterborough.
  3. I'm west of you and nothing is happening, despite it looking as if it is intensifying. The radar is playing tricks on us tonight
  4. Well, according to my radar, I've got a dark blue band of snow over me, but nothing happening.
  5. Morning everyone - we've got a few snowflakes blowing in the wind at the moment. Very light - could be someone going for a walk with dandruff, mind í ½í¸„
  6. Morning everyone. Have woken up to a nice coating of snow this morning here in west Cambs. Not looking forward to the trek to Cambridge.
  7. Well, that was a disappointment. Moderate drizzle here in west Cambs at the moment. Not a sniff of a bit of thunder or lightning overnight. I can't believe I haven't had a decent thunderstorm this summer yet with all the rain we've had.
  8. Only just snowing here in west Cambs. So light you can hardly see it. I'm stuck in that big clear gap between the two bands. Typical! Everything east of me is getting hammered.
  9. Morning all - what a lovely sight this morning. Can't wait to take the dogs for a walk after breakfast. It's my one-year-old Jack Russell's first experience of snow and she's loving it. I think we've had about five inches here, although there's quite a bit of drifting as well so we could hit some deep patches. Let's hope it sticks around for a while.
  10. Looking at the radar, the front seems to be weakening really rapidly. There was a massive band of green over the Midlands and this has just about disappeared from the radar as it's heading towards Cambs. I can't believe it's decayed so quickly. there's no way we're going to get really heavy stuff in a couple of hours. It'll have fizzled out completely by then
  11. Hi, there - been snowing heavily for the past hour, but the snowflakes are tiny, so not making a huge impact. Paths are white, but the road is still uncovered. Hope the flakes get a big bigger otherwise it'll look like icing sugar coating
  12. Hi, everyone. Still dry here in west Cambs but the radar showing it should be with me shortly. Looks like it sneaked in north above me to hit Peterborough first!! I'm going to knacker my curtains peeking out of them every 10 seconds!
  13. Morning all - the radar shows snow across Cambs at the moment, but all we've got is sleet
  14. I've just travelled from Grafham in West Cambs to Fulbourn and it's weird there are some areas where is hasn't settled and others where it's lovely and white. It snowed heavily throughout the journey. Just starting to settle in Fulbourn, yet it was a whiteout in Cambourne. Even in St Neots - one half of the town was green and the other half white - even though it's snowing heavily everywhere. Let's hope it carries on for a little while longer
  15. Snowing here in west Cambs. Got a nice covering on paths, grass, etc
  16. Big thunderstorm currently over West Cambridgeshire - started at about 7am and still rumbling.
  17. Had a very light snow shower in Cambridge about half an hour ago
  18. Heavy wet snow and rain on the way in to Cambridge this morning. Horrible, dark, old morning.
  19. Just had some big rumbles of thunder here in west Cambridgeshire. From the radar, looks like we're about to be hit by a deluge
  20. chucking it down with snow here in West Cambs, but not settling
  21. Got about an inch now and still snowing. The heavier band is moving northwards. Will it get this far?
  22. Snowing hard here in West Cambs. Probably got a couple of cms already. On the radar, it looks like this is the fairly light stuff - the heavier bands are still south of us. This could be interesting if they continue northwards this morning. Might get some accumulations today
