  1. It's been fantastic to see so many members on here seeing the best snowfall ever. Please spare a thought for your fellow Cambridgeshire no-snowers. All donations of the white stuff will be gratefully received
  2. Missed all the snow last night in West Cambs and missing it again today. I'm at work in Cambridge and all the showers to the north seem to be moving eastwards rather than south, so looking like Cambridge could end up with very little again, if anything. At some stage, surely, this area is going to get some good falls??
  3. The radar is showing the band below me moving west, not north. That could be the furthest north it's going to get. Don't think it's going to get any further into Cambridgeshire. I hope I'm proved wrong as I can't believe how close it is
  4. I've got my postcode marked on the NW radar and the main band has stalled about half a centimetre below my postcode. How bl**y frustrating. It doesn't seem to want to push that tiny bit northwards. It must be about a mile to my south!!
  5. Main snow band just a few miles south of me in West Cambs - will it make it!!!
  6. That band of snow heading north is so tantalisingly close. Will it just about make it here?
  7. Very disappointing BBC forecast for Cambs tonight and tomorrow. It had the band coming from the north tonight and tomorrow completely missing us as well. It stretched from mid-Nofolk across the country - well below us.
  8. I know most of the action looks to be in the south-east later, but can anyone update what might happen across East Anglia? Will that low affect any part of the East Anglian region later?
  9. Yes, I think this will be very disappointing for Cambs. Typical when we get easterlies or north-easterlies, our region is doing poorly when we should be in a prime position.
  10. Had light snow since 8am, but it's still covered everything. The first band seems to be fizzling out over north Cambs and East Midlands. It'll be interesting if the band following makes it here because there's some heavy stuff in there.
  11. Blimey - that eradicates any snowfall at all tomorrow for EA and South-east. Looks like the only chance we may get is when the second band comes through. So we've gone from a Tuesday snow-fest to a Tuesday no-fest. Typical!
  12. Another heavy band of ppn about to hit me - sky is very dark. Will it be rain or snow? My money's on rain
  13. Just taken the dog for a walk and the clouds over Peterborough are ink-black. Not sure whether it has snowed up there or whether it was rain. Haven't had any more snow/rain since this morning. It's been passing to the north. If the line of showers running through Wales towards Birmingham makes it here, it could be interesting as the temp is dropping
  14. Yes, it's alternating between wet snow and sleet - even in the heavier bursts. Never mind - it was exciting to see some as it was unexpected. I'm looking forward to next week, though!
  15. Now it's snowing again. Hopefully that was the brief warm front ahead of the real stuff
  16. First band just hit me in West Cambridgeshire - started off as light snow, then chucked it down with rain, then turned to sleet.
  17. That's how it started here - now it's chucking down with rain. The odd snowflake mixed in
  18. It was snowing - now it's sleet. What's going on Edit - it's pouring with rain. Nooooooo
  19. Yes, the radar shows no sign of it dying out. Bigger snow flakes starting to arrive now and it's getting heavier. There's some heavy stuff just north of Leicester that's heading for me. The heavy band just going through Nottingham is heading for Peterborough. Look out, TEITS!!
  20. Just started snowing lightly here. The heavier stuff is right behind it
  21. Looking out of my window to my north-west, the clouds are very dark. This is totally unexpected. Looks like it'll be over me shortly. If it gets past me and doesn't fizzle out, Cambridge will be in the firing line next!
  22. Another cold, beautiful morning here in West Cambridgeshire. Starting to cloud over and, looking at the radar, there's a strong band of showers heading south-east from the north-west, though the Midlands, and heading straight for me. For once, they don't look like they're dying out as they get closer. The band should reach me within the hour, by the look of it. Fingers' crossed!! In the Midlands thread, they're reporting snow in Leicester and Nottingham, so looking good.
  23. Happy new year to everyone. Gorgeous day here in west Cambs - blue sky, sun, hard frost, bitterly cold. Don't think the snow showers are going to get to me today, but hopefully people east of me will get a nice covering.
  24. I've been watching some of the showers coming into the Wash area over the past few hours and they are fizzling out completely as soon as they get inland. It'd be nice if they pepped up a bit, but I fear they won't get as far as Cambs
