  1. Well I was in Newquay in Ceredigion over the weekend- bloody sea mist spoilt the weekend to be honest - Inland less than a mile stunning - on the coast dreadful - we still barbequed but jumpers on in the hottest May Bank recorded. Left early on Monday Aberaeron was 11.5% - over the Brecon Beacons the car was reading 26.5% what a difference glad I came back to the Valleys early to be honest the garden was like the South of France compared to the Mid Wales Coast.
  2. Just got back into the Valleys from Newquay drive was fine even dropped into Tesco and got some bread on the way home. Pretty spectacular scenery on the way home to be honest but Carmarthen is an odd place, blizzards and snow covered fields for most of the way but Carmarthen absolutely nothing not even a flake on the windscreen.
  3. snowing quite heavily here but not really sticking on the roads yet- gonna make a dash shortly to Newquay if I can get Mrs M moving - stick to the M4 and avoid Brecon tomorrow I recon
  4. I’m off to Ceredigion, Newquay tomorrow straight over the Beacons , watch the rugby all day then back Sunday fingers crossed there’s no drama on the way home, perhaps better to travel on the M4 and avoid Sennybridge and Brecon on Sunday
  5. Just really hard to get excited about snow again after this weekend to be honest.although we’ve had snow in March and April many times can’t help but feel this weekend has brought winter to an end,so roll on Spring weather as far as I’m concerned
  6. What a weekend let’s all get together next December and do it all again ??
  7. Gotta wait until the morning to comment , too emotion al at the moment lol
  8. It is a lottery in the UK The North usually do well every winter and the East when we get the rare Easterly. Every year I've been on the forums I hear the term "Beast from the East" but this is the first time it has really delivered for Wales and the Storm from Portugal couldn't have come at a better time- Thursday and Friday as well - it has been like winning the lottery here in the S Wales Valleys- how long will we have to wait to see its like again?
  9. Snowing again here as well this has been amazing - MO has got heavy rain for tomorrow and to be fair they've been pretty good locally for us so one last hurrah before we only have our photos to remind us but what an event!!
  10. I'm not saying it won't happen but for this year this will do for me (as if that matters to be honest lol) Roll on proper Spring
  11. I think this is it though - its been brilliant - couldn't have happened at a better time for me- not desperate to be in work so booked holidays- two days constant snow and to be honest if we hadn't had the wind and the small grainy snow it would have been pretty desperate times up in the Valleys. Roll on spring now- two pretty good snow falls this winter - I would settle for that going forward bearing in mind what we've had the last 5 years or so.
  12. Snowing quite heavily here now as well - MO got this pretty much spot on for 10am - temps holding out at about freezing but will have to do the dreaded snow removal off drive later today as looks like heavy rain at times forecast tomorrow and gonna have to get to work on Monday one way or the other
  13. Still below zero outside but we are entering the breakdown stage to drizzle and melt which no one is looking forward to but it’s been epic
  14. Minus 3 still here and the big flakes which only lasted for a few minutes have returned to yesterday’s fine stuff but quite heavy once again
  15. Looks like after dinner for the rest of the day according to Benez
  16. Was going out to get some photos...perhaps not
  17. That’s a shame but it’s the weather and we’ve all been there before, fingers crossed things improve for you over the weekend
  18. Nothing fake about these winds James lol
  19. Still under amber warning here though the snow has definitely stalled a good bit for the time being
  20. Good grief bit of a before and after if the snow had been bigger flakes this would have been really worrying
  21. It’s gotta be said this looks epic another day of mostly heavy snow and temperatures not getting above -3 bloody amazing.and well done MO and Andy my go to forecasters now ?????? 22. As far as I know it hasn’t stopped all night but it is much finer now though the wind is still howling. Amazing really pretty much 24 hours of this grain like snow, there’s going to be some great photos about tomorrow for sure.Still can’t get my head around what’s happened though there’s practically no snow on any of the roofs or the cars to be honest but there’s three foot drifts about and probably a foot of lying snow in the sheltered spots.Pretty historic event I’d say
  23. great day watching the snow build now down to lampost watching and see what transpires over night
  24. Completely agree = its brutal outside at the moment
  25. Well good luck to you anyway - its getting wild up here now wind has picked up and visibility is reducing all the ti,e
