I don't think anyone said there's no snow and to be fair to the MO I think red may well be justified if you got caught out in that wind and snow fine as it is you would be in trouble pretty quickly

Yes ok in fairness it does say getting worse around 6'ish for us and if anything the heavy snow looks progged for further into the early hours of tomorrow morning as well - can't see the farm in Gelligaer opposite now either getting lots of sand at the moment with high winds - on another positive note its beer oclock and the outside bar while freezing the coke has just chilled to perfection the lager

We’re just weather enthusiasts on here fendermaestro but it’s an excellent point there’s a bigger picture here than some of us watching the snow fall and drinking coffee. Well fair play to the MO at least in my part of the world light snow from the morning though in previous years this would be heavy I think, fingers crossed they’ve got the rest of the day nailed, did get lighter here 10 minutes ago but here we go again

Not a bad start to the day before the first coffee gets finished ,going to take the dog out for a walk before the blizzard gets going in the afternoon I think.

And yet a few hours ago it had a Westward trajectory, now casting throughout this unusual spell for us I think. It hasn’t really stopped here since about 7am, watching the wind whip it up from the ground into small tornadoes is amazing but what’s more exciting is the forecast doesn’t see the heavy stuff start until after dinner then it just doesn’t stop.If it goes to forecast it’s going to be a once in a generation storm ?️

Well the MO seem to be pushing this West so I don’t think you guys are going to be disappointed for too much longer

Odd met office data reads 90 %chance of snow from mid morning but the presenter talked of freezing rain and to me it looked further West than anything.wind is blowing outside mind you and the temp is minus 6 out of the wind so pretty Baltic ....is there any chance this will be a let down? Lots of services,flights and schools already closed for 2 days would be a a Michael Fish event all over if it didn’t I guess

Why is the MO and the BBC forecast so different ? - Heavy snow pretty much all day Thursday on the MO - Light snow and breezy on the Beeb - more to the point who do we trust before I book tomorrow off?
