  1. The MO would have to backtrack significantly for our area John - if anything the heavy stuff gets going earlier on Thursday and then though the intensity decreases as we head to the early hours of Friday it just keeps going pretty much through to Sunday with no sign of a thaw - is that even possible?
  2. Its interesting that even the showery light stuff this morning was starting to accumulate on the ground as its so cold- if this comes off could be borderline historic for many
  3. Kinda dreading the morning now GFS set on ruining my plans. Met office still showing heavy snow in the Valleys Thursday through Friday but going to great lengths to explain things can change. We’ll see
  4. Me and Rhys are going to the Tredegar Arms in Beasley what time can we expect you ?
  5. Bloody hell Andy - I've seemed to have missed all today's showers just got to the good bit of the slides above and no happy ending for the Valleys - it was like watching batman in the cinema when I was a kid- whens the next episode due?
  6. That's not what the graphics suggest? Meanwhile back at home
  7. Not that I wish downgrades for anyone but having spent so much time on the mod threads lately the only region not mentioned at all in the build up ie Wales and the West now, to me at least, looks like being in the sweet spot for the up-coming weekends events - how ironic - not for the first time this year either when the last snow we had was a Midlands and North event before the Southern drift took it right over the Valleys. British by birth Welsh by the grace of God lol
  8. BBC Wales showing drizzle and sleet Saturday and Sunday but they were very slow to get on board with whats coming around the corner so I'll await another upgrade Andy the alarms set for 2pm on Thursday I'll be very upset if we haven't had anything by 14.10 :0) PS my daughters friend sent a photo of her local Tesco in Cardiff completely devoid of bread and milk yesterday lol - hope everyones got their supplies- don't forget to have a full tank of petrol =if your unfortunate enough to be out on Thursday / Fri aswel
  9. Our first flakes of the week now falling gonna be epic lol
  10. Well the Met office is at odds with the BBC for Friday in my part of the world - I'm backing (ie hoping they are correct) the Met Office
  11. -3 when I got in the car this morning but not a sign of frost - bone dry atmosphere at the moment
  12. Beeb still showing nothing more than light snow and sleet post Thursday, 200 metres absl in the SWales valleys, looks like the sweet spot from the model watching but apparently not according to the bbc
  13. At what point this week do you think this will become concrete not juut risk of?
  14. 10 mm max in SE Wales - the polar bears aren't going to be happy with that?
  15. I'm booking it Rhys and I only work down the road from you in Newport
  16. That’s a great point I’ve enjoyed the pre cold cold as it were just sitting in the garden with my fire reading these threads and the post match rugby reports with a coffee or the occasional glass of red. Great way to relax before it all kicks off.
  17. If this doesn’t come off now I’m going to be seriously hacked off.
  18. When their discussing the disappointing rain event on the mod thread they aren’t obviously looking at this chart
  19. That chart looks pretty savage for the West and Wales though despite the potential brevity
  20. Good luck man, for all us weather enthusiasts hoping for snow let’s not forget this weather has a huge impact on people’s livelihoods and we’ll being
  21. Hmmm mod thread is showing a huge flip from Friday looks like the low pressure from the South is far more potent than seemed possible. If it continues looks like the cold spell will be very short lived. How things can change.
