  1. The problem with Wales is that we often get a lot of snow from battlegrounds but the atlantic usually turns it to slush within days.An easterly is not that great because any precip with it has to travel a long way to reach us,as with a northern attack. Speaking from a personal viewpoint,a south-west led mild v cold event is best for us but these events are always marginal and often short-lived. Anyway,it's been a great winter so far and whilst i think it'll be a quiet few weeks,i certainly dont think winter is over yet
  2. heavy snow now for about 3 and a half hours and, even at my height,"only" 5-7cm of snow on the ground Just shows how spoilt we've been this winter if im moaning over this!!!
  3. 2 or 3 degs colder and this morning's snow would have caused absolute chaos around here, although the precip may not have been so intense Next weeks easterly has been downgraded as well which now looks like being on the cool side of average but mainly dry
  4. Those ground temps were always going to be the killer which is a shame as the precip is not too bad now
  5. Got about 2cm here but the snow is very wet,if you see what i mean Big flakes, though,as you'd expect with this kind of front
  6. Just come back from playing football with the boy and whilst the car temp said 5deg there was a biting easterly wind
  7. I still think this a top end Beacons event but just came back from walking the dog and it's a lot cooler today than the past few days.
  8. I still think this snow event is being overplayed by the meto. The tops of the Beacons may get 5-10cms but even at my height i just dont think the ground temps are cold enough for any wet snow to stick, certainly not enough to cause the "disruption" we had last week. Hope im wrong but this just hasn't get a very good feel about it,in my opinion. Still expect bread and milk to be sold out by noon today, though,in fact i think this latest snowcast is sponsored by Hovis:D
  9. Hi everyone. With my height,i may get a bit of wet snow but this warning seems a tad ott for anywhere south of Manchester,in my opinion.
