  3. It is known that there is a higher chance of an easterly during the months of Feb and March, it seems that they are becoming less of an occurrence in winter? or at least strong one's anyway.
  4. http://www.weatheron...MENU=UKForecast This link is likely to get updated and the text change so i'm posting a screen snap to-see below This is potentially a problem is winds get that high, i thought it was mid-week when the storms fire at as! 5. How strange is this, i was inputting data for my post above, when i had got to the last data entry it had 2011/2012 at number 62! if i added 2012/13 that would take it to 63, which means 2012/2013 would be on 62/63!! see image below: If you don't know why i've posted this, the winter of 1962/63 was freezing with lots of snow,

  7. Some incredible images here of Curiosity Rover and Mars surface, a view from Curiosity.. What's that!! You can use this monster image(above) for personal/sharing use only as both images are not my own!! (image editing/mixing, is my own work) it didn't take me to long thought it would be fun doing it, and it was! The image used below is a scene from the film Tremors,
  8. After studying stratosphere data/information over the last few years i have found it is an important area of study, i will be glued to the information presented in the strat thread this late autumn and winter, what i might do is convert the technical info into something more easier to understand and post that in here, so you all know what is going on! but if you don't already then i do recommend reading the stratophere thread, always ask about what things mean, or look the words up and go back read the posts.
  9. http://www.wzforum.d....php?27,2519981 Same forecast as i have(i have now removed it from my post, please see link below) posted above, on the forum link above --- The next link it should appear translated after a few seconds http://www.microsoft....php?27,2519981
  10. Sorry! see the link below for the forecast that was in this post. Thanks.
  11. Edited the post abit. This is something that i really have to agree with, and i won't go on about it to much..Being excited now is ok, whether or not it turns out to be a mild or freezing winter or inbetween, then now is all part of the build up, what the indications are now are saying more chance of cold. Sometimes the start of a movie gets us interested but it not always continues that way, but we were excited to go see the film, this is how i see it, and whatever the weather brings it is sure to be a very interesting late autumn and winter. There are a lot of strange and unusual goings on with the signals, and of course we do not know how the Arctic sea ice melt is going to affect the pressure patterns.
  12. Take a look at the milder signals, then this shows just how a higher chance of cold there is.
  13. JP, it's "48 things to do in the snow" maybe that's why it's not on the list?
  14. "shake snow of trees"... Well the dog can shake snow off it's self.. The sheep might just get lost.. Maybe there be an upgrade if you get one of these.. I would have thought that would on the list! they have got some funny ones on it though.

  16. Want to add in the the surface pressure and the 500/1000hpa chart for Friday(GFS 18z), much colder upper temperatures through friday, and much cooler on the surface to, with a gusty westerly bringing heavy thundery showers/storms across southern/western areas, 1200hrs-Thickness 500/1000hpa: 1500hrs-Surface pressure below: ESS
  17. Here is a recent radar image: Below is NAE 1800-0000hrs rainfall If we look at the 0000hrs-0600hrs it shows the heavy and prolonged rainfall over Northern England and Scotland Through Friday the focus for the most heavy and prolonged rain is on Scotland: Next is the 0600-1200hrs precipitation image, Eastern areas of Scotland are likely to recieve a significant amount of rain: Also keep watch on some heavy downpours across the Southwest, although over southern parts could get them but the heaviest likely in the SW Last of all taking a look at the accumulated precipitation up to 3am saturday, this shows large totals of rain for Northern and Eastern Scotland. (CHARTS - NAE 18Z) ESS
  18. I think cold follows warm Oct more then cold one's.. the Stratosphere needs to come into play yet, then we will know. When your a cold fan it's always a worry watching what the Strat does, i have to call it the..stratosfear! Is that because it's a cold October?
  19. Look up the words, read what they mean and then go back to the post and take a look at the colourful images and still be confused!! it's complex stuff and i find it very interesting and enjoy reading and learning more and more! I can read the technical posts and understand most of what i read which makes it more exciting especially if your a cold fan!
  20. We are seeing something unusual and early in the models/teleconnections.Something is very different this year, strange signals and very interesting. It looks to me as though we are heading for a very cold blocked winter..
  21. Looks as though we could get some interesting weather today(Thursday)an active system steams across bringing with it a lot of rainfall, and the risk of thunder and lightning, perhaps even thunderstorms. The map shows everywhere is going to get very wet, with local flooding for many areas and the most prolonged and heavy rainfall flooding rivers, this weather system bringing yet more disruption.

My map is in the Atlantic storm thread in severe weather area.
  23. Contact Wiki about it! They could add it to the list on the link here! http://en.wikipedia....t_Flood_of_1968 The list of weather events is at the bottom of the page on above link.
