  1. Great to see you guys in Dorset getting some snow, you deserve it!!!
  2. Alijoe, I'm the same as you, I don't begrudge anybody else having snow but just wish we got more in the West/Southwest. I was a bit surprised to read TEITs "I told you so" post in your thread this pm. He usually writes with compassion when talking about us snowless folk. Yes he is often right and I normally love reading his posts, but perhaps a few kind words to soften the blow would be kind. No offence TEITS
  3. Good grief can this be anymore frustrating? Each year I tell myself not be drawn in, yet still I am! Perhaps next year I'll have the resolve to not listen to every forecast going. Don't suppose most of us will know until the morning, but really, is one fall of snow a year too much to ask?
  4. WOW that's impressive AWD, hope it comes true for you :0)
  5. Oh that's great news for some of us but if we are unlucky, I would love the rest of our region to get a good pasteing, don't see why the SE should always have the fun. Good luck in Dorset.
  6. Thanks for that Iceberg. I notice you kindly mention the moors of Devon, are you talking more about Exmoor rather than Dartmoor? I'm south Dartmoor and didn't think anything but rain was forecast for here! Would hate to get my hopes up yet again ;0)
  7. Looking pretty good for you guys in Avon and Somerset, would be even better if it moved a little further SW into Devon, but if that's not to be, then I'll try to enjoy reading your reports. Would just make a nice change for the SE not to get all the fun.
  8. This is my favourite forecast of all time, I've seen it before, so, so funny, great to watch it again.
  9. Hi as a newbie I am very confused about what it takes to get a good fall of snow in the Southwest at this time of year. Is there anybody out there that could explain it layman's terms for us model illiterate people? What's a good set up for snow for us that have only seen 1cm of snow since Dec 2010. running out of time and getting desperate. When posts read that the snow risk is moving West, I get all excited, only to realise that's it's not West enough. Thanks
  10. Just popping in to say hope you guys get loads of snow but remember it's only good manners to share!!!
  11. Thanks for that S4Lancia, not sure I can take another week of maybe's but I'll be here just the same as the other snow obsessed peeps!!!
  12. Great for us snow starved Southwesterners to see some photos, cute dogs. Nice to think some of you can have a day to play and not have to worry about getting to work. Enjoy!!!
  13. Not looking for a repeat of my snow event. 1cm max yesterday morning, washed away by midday, then cold rain and lots of it !!! As Aceman asked, any of you wise weather guys out there able to give us a glimmer of hope for the coming week. MOD thread only mentioning south and east?
  14. Moderate snow shower here on Dartmoor, laying on driveways, trees etc. probably won't last long but nice to watch anyway. :0)
  15. Thanks DK, not sounding too good for Dartmoor then, rain again!!!
  16. So with only a few days to go, is there any chance at all that this could come further west or are we running out of time?
  17. Light snow shower on south Dartmoor. Obviously won't come to anything but still better than the disappointment of Sunday evening where snow was forecast and all we got was rain!
  18. 2-3" snow at Princetown on Dartmoor (1240 asl) and still snowing.
  19. Been sleeting here for 2hrs now and no sign of it changing to the white stuff, maybe if the temp drops into the evening we might have some luck, but not holding out much hope. Having said all that, it's great to have a bit of excitement for a change and loving the lower temperatures.
  20. Great to wake up to another morning frost, three in a row :0). Not so great, is the fact that snow has been replaced by rain for my location on South Dartmoor between now and Tuesday, any chance this could change again? Looking great for those a bit further NE. If you get too much snow, aim the snowballs in my direction please.....!!!!!!
  21. Does anybody know what's happened to Steve Murr, I would really like to hear his take on the models at the moment. I do have faith in his opinions along with the other top guys, GP, TEITS and Nick Sussex.
  22. Hi I've just driven between Postbridge and Yelverton, South Dartmoor and there was snow on the moorland but not on the road, so I guess its pretty wet stuff but it was definitely snowing as I drove. First snow if the year, really excited!!!
  23. I live on South Dartmoor so unfortunately no lampost either!!!! However I do have a trusty light attached to the house which is very well attended during the winter months. No thunder here recently but in December I was so lucky to be woken by thunder snow, have been lampost watching since the year dot and didn't even know til last year that there was such a thing, thought it was another hope casting term like snowmageddon!!!!!!
  24. Hi all, I'm not a frequent poster as I have no weather station, no forecasting skills and worse than that no snow. So I rely on you guys to keep me up to speed but with rain, rain and more rain this site's been so quiet. Great to see a bit of sun today and here's hoping for something of interest for the coldies amongst us by the weekend.
