Light snow here nr Flash north Staffordshire Moorlands.

Well it was the 18z that was a strong precursor to the 0z runs last night and now it is showing a very weak high to the North of the UK with the Atlantic firing up, this could collapse very quickly.
I agree Ian. 18z looks a poor run again. At least it will be dry and fairly cold

Thanks Ian for the update. So it would seem next week will be more of the same i.e atlantic fronts pushing in with some hill snow but generally mild in the south and west

sorry mods slightly off topic but just to add further questions about the models, just now on our local bbc news , our weather girl stated that it would get much colder next week, does this help or cloud the issue with the model outlook even more
They are probably reading the month ahead forecast on the BBC website
Its mild all the way! I have no idea why they would say otherwise

Looks like what the UKMO would probably show if it went further... just too much punch from the Atlantic.
12c in the SW by day 8c by night.
It doesn't get much worse. I see nobody is even posting on TWO this evening - cold weather fans have gone!

Seriously though... the ECM/UKMO could well end this winter, if they came off. If a Euro high gets established as being suggested by those 2 then well... worst case scenario for the British winter. Euro highs can and often do get stuck and last for weeks, going to be very hard to get rid off. Looks like the atlantic wants revenge after being imprisoned for so long.
