    White in Consett. If rather wet, good covering though even slushy on main roads! Looks to be clearing now, blue sky in distance.

    Roads are crap between Stanley and Consett. No gritters in sight. Snow is steadily falling now and we should be looking at some decent totals by the end of tomorrow.

    Just had a drive up to Waskerly to get some photos, didn't make it past the other side of Castleside! Drifting snow making the road attrocious!! Maybe have another go later tomorrow.

    just spent two hours with neighbours digging out street, don't know why as another inch already covering it! could be another day off tomorrow if this keeps up!!

    Still heavy drifting snow in Consett area. Looks like cold weather may hang around longer than the weekend if model forum is anything to go off. Models picking up a signal that atlantic may not have an easy ride into uk. Altitude may have more snow over weekend!?

    If you read yesterday's reports from further south, they all reported sleet at first before snow arrived in low lying areas. You will get snow as temp falls later. Another 12 hours or so of snowfall! How much will Consett have then?

    Those that left for work could have a problem later with snow and temp dropping. Also snow looks to be intensifying. Deep and drifting in lower Consett. God knows what it's like in Consett itself!!

    Thanks for the pic, I was just about to set off to Easington from Consett! Don't think I'll bother as traffic manic and I would suggest snow level is dropping and snow all day will result in awful conditions. Don't fancy a night in Easington!!

    20cm was for higher ground. Stanley and Consett are really bad. See pic of Lanchester road for situation up here
