  1. What i dont under stand from a learner in model watching is that from frame 144 there is low pressure in the med and a great huge area of high pressure in russia , how does that atlantic high push its way through? it does not seem right !any takers?
  2. Surely if that pv over Greenland does start to shift west in the up and coming days, even if it is small amounts, looking at the hemispher chart on the ECM there is ahuge area of high pressure over W Russia, which to my lurking of the models has been ther for some while. With the high in the Atlantic, that cold has no where to go but UK.Thats my limited knowledge outcome. If only it was easy as all that.
  3. I thought there would be more comments this evening with the ecm out look.At T 168 and onwards, there i saw a nice long lobe of high pressure in Russia forcing its way across, pushing the pressure away to the north of the UK.Has it been ther on previous runs. mike
  4. I thought this too. With that cold driving south , from Canada into the usa, letting that ridge squeeze up.My thoughts from my lsst post.Thats what i was hoping for.
  5. Looking at the ECM 216 N/ Hemispher chart, is it all that cold digging down from Canada and pushing as far south as possible fo us,then allowing the Atlantic high to squeeze its self through.Just a noobie trying to work things out. mike
  6. looking at the n hemisphere charts, the polar vortex seems to be not bottled up and seems to be spreading around.i have noticed this on previous runs,is this because its in the low residue or can it be on to something? thanks mike
  7. Just a question for the more knowledgable.Looking at the northen hemisphere charts the main polor vortex arouned n canada seems to be moving away and the polar regions look more displaced.I know it is in the later stages but may tie in with some of the strat reports.Just somthing to look forward to maybe. thanks mike
