    I'm in brentford, west London, have had this storm rumbling past hour or so. Torrential rain a few mins ago. Got a v bad head too. Sky v dark to my south.

    Torrential rain here, got the gazebo up thank god. Thunder, haven't seen any lightning yet.

    Thanks all!! Big black clouds to my south here and a fairly breezy day so far! Have a feeling the gazebo will come in handy... And the cagool, Wellies and the ark I built last night !!

    We ve had rain overnight here in west London. Quite heavy at times. I've got my 40th birthday party drinks today in the garden and so am off to buy a gazebo! Just hope it doesn't take off and join the flight path to heathrow when the winds pick up later...!

    Thunder on and off here in west London since around 1240, booming thunder. Only saw one lightning strike though looked to be between clouds. Went v dark, but is now brightening up from the south. Planes are going over lower than usual, or they seem to be anyway. Had some rain, but not heavy at all. V oppressive.

    I live on flight path to heathrow, brentford, and the planes are right over head tonight and loud!! Doesnt help with my windows open of course. This afternoon a plane went over was incredibly low and loud. I will be surprised if it doesn't rain here imminently..

    . Hard to know whether to watch the sky or the tennis!! Seems we've got off fairly lightly here in London with rainfall today, unless that changes later of course! I hear that some areas up north have had a deluge. Thats a lot of flood warnings isn't it. No doubt will increase as the run off goes into rivers etc.

    Evening all. Very humid and sticky here in west London and dark skies to the south. Got too many trees here to see the sky properly though.got bad head too.

    Blowing a gale in west London!! It's like October! A tree here just bent back and forth quite readily.

    Same here in brentford. All I keep seeing is bits of healthy looking leaves flying around! Trees swaying readily in the wind. Just hope they continue to remain in the upright position. Unlike me later after a few pink cavas!

    Hello from brentford west London. Very muggy feel here today, despite a cooling breeze. Dreading the commute to canary wharf tomorrow, looking at the projected rainfall for our area it could be a tricky few hours for many people. The plants and greenery seem to grow extensively every day! Overgrown with weeds etc here and the wind soon sorted out our fully bloomed roses, now rose petals on the floor!! Travel safely tomorrow morning all..

    . Hello to you in the north! I just got back from ne England, Newcastle and then kielder observatory. Ne england is just wonderful. Was a bit of icy snow up at kielder very high up, and surrounding mountains, but clear at lower levels. The locals were remarking how snowless this winter had been so far! It wasnt too cold during our visit temp wide, but wed and thur had biting easterly winds. Back in London now, it's freezing already!!

    Soooooooo cold here in the west. Bird bath froze solid. Having to have wine to keep warm. Evening to you all.. Keep warm.
