Storms do not get stuck in valleys or near high ground. The reason it seems that way is because they are continually developing / back-building.Feeling pretty privileged to have witnessed lightning that was so far away last night along with the full moon shining brightly.
truly stunning cloudscapes lastnight with the moon backlighting the clouds with flashes of lightning thrown in .. i wish i could of got it on video .

Blooming hekk if that projection is half right things could get badInteresting developments on the latest UKMO radar projection output;
Best in mind these are at 3 hourly intervals so if they don't show a cell above you house above, the chances are one could have travelled through your area in the 3 hour gap.
It does show some good, developing cells over the West Country & Central/Southern England however.

Apologies if this is a little IMBY, but I'm really starting to get turned on with what I'm seeing potentially on Tuesday. This is up there with some of the best potential I've seen modelled in recent years.
My city, unusually, is right in the mix of it all too. I can't contain myself any longer!!!!!

She was about to turn off the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice, "Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight?"
The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug. "I can't dear," she said. "I have to sleep in Daddy's room."
A long silence was broken at last by a shaken little voice saying, "The big sissy.
