  1. Nice to see snow accumulating against my windows! BBC weather is definitely an upgrade.
  2. Slightly, but there is little scope for downgrades or upgrades now. Still looks good to me.
  3. Coming down nicely here, settling instantly on all surfaces.
  4. Rain shadow looks limited, with the PPN forming on the eastern side.
  5. GFS 12z looks alright to me with hours of mod-heavy snow, the front does appear to struggle at first but has no problem moving east eventually, W York's looks alright IMO.
  6. I can understand Adam's frustration, NAE 00z was stinking, 06z not so much. GFS looks great, but in tthese situations I put more faith in NAE. Experience tells me to be disappointed, features like this really struggle against blocks, but they find it easy to make it herein the summer.I'm still hopeful, I just wish NAE in particular would sop changing so frequently. PS sorry for typos, android 'keyboard' is garbage.
  7. Permission to get excited?! The forecasts look gold to me,and it is nice to see Gfs on boars.
  8. Moderate snow, not really settled on pavements but has made an effort.
  9. It's desperation on their part - only recent runs have trended south, and who is to say that the trend will continue throughout the week? But I expected as much, typical 'southern correction' nonsense. These people are making the model thread insufferable.
  10. If you're sick of spring here, spare a thought for those in Norway.. I think the person in this video has a death wish!
  11. Looks good, he mentioned a few cm to lower levels and showed widespread snow instead of a rain/snow mix.
  12. The Met Office have those lovely heavy snow icons for Leeds between 0300 and 0600.
  13. NAE has picked up on that small feature now, but I'm on mobile and on my belated lunch break so I'm not going to post it! Warnings have been released too I see.
  14. Yes, GFS has been showing that feature for a while now.
  15. The snowfall of last night/this morning was not forecast until the very last minute, even NAE only began showing heavy snow for West and North Yorkshire just a few hours before the actual event, and the Met Office didn't release warnings until the snow started falling here. Nothing is set in stone!
  16. A great winter overall, with a maximum depth of 25 cm, similar to December 2010, and 14 consecutive days of snow cover in January. The highlight of the cold spell was the 25th of January when 14/15cm fell. I don't think snow depths were ever confirmed for the Channel Islands, in such scenarios drifting makes it extremely hard to get an accurate measurement. I think they're far more likely to get a true blizzard than anywhere in low level England anyway due to susceptibility to moisture-laden low pressure systems which rarely deliver this far north.
  17. Sleet, with periods of snow. Trying very, very hard to turn. Bleak.
  18. I believe this is the area of precipitation that will track over us in the early hours of tomorrow.. That is what the Met Office indicate, anyway. 3am tomorrow 4am It should reach Sheffield after 6 am if the Met Office projections are to be trusted.
  19. Think we'll have to wait until the early hours for the heavier precipitation to arrive here, but we've done alright so far.
  20. Getting heavier again, car roofs are white, grass slowly turning white. More, please.
