Seeing sleet on the radar for over the Beacons. Any reports from a bit of height?
365m asl in Brynmawr and heavy rain with large flakes of extremely wet snow mixed in but temperature rising.

Snowed last night at pretty much all day in Brynmawr but only a dusting. Snow was very fine. Yet only a mile away in Beaufort they have a few inches. We were just on the right side of marginal at 369m asl.

Been quiet in here today. Just back from work in Newport. Its - 2 there, - 7.4 here. Ice everywhere. Still pretty white up here, not much melt.

One of those occasions where altitude didn't really matter. We got about 3 inches in Brynmawr, same as most places. It snowed from 4pm yesterday and was heavy at times, but the flakes were so small. Snow is very dry and blowy. All schools in Blaenau Gwent are closed today.

This has been a decent event here, yes very patchy in places, a few miles away there is nothing but I've managed to measure 3.5cm on the grass which is a lot better than we did last year!
Awesome, you are usually unlucky with snow so happy you got some

Evening All
well it's certainly looking like South, East and Mid Wales are going to get some pretty decent coverage tomorrow.
Favoured spots are as always elevation and exposure to the SE.
Heads of the Valleys look to be in the firing line as they were for our last snowfalls in March.
If I was a betting man I would say Brynmawr is my favoured location for the biggest totals, closely followed by Ebbw Vale and Tredegar
Here in Aberdare I'm expecting a decent cover but with some protection from the East I don't expect more than 5-10cms max here
We shall see. T minus 14 hours
As I live in Brynmawr, that's music to my ears lol. Good luck tomorrow

As in 2010? In Swansea that is
I remember that winter, the white christmas.. I was the General Manager at Odyssey Nightclub on Wind St, snow started on Black Friday night around 10pm, I left Swansea at around 4am to drive home to Newport, where I lived at the time, took me 8 hours. Was terrible conditions on M4

Nothing seems to getting over the hills. Brynmawr seems to be stealing our snow
Nothing here in Brynmawr mate, we had a 20 min heavy snow shower which turned everything white and as soon as it stopped, within 10 mins all was melted.
Edit - It's lightly snowing again.
