  3. The ash cloud has killed my computer it turned itself off esrlier and won't go bk on so we opened it and its full off this really fine powder great just before the storms too so now I'm onn my blackberry and this stie is not designed

For mobile use I'm still holding out for tommorow dunno how I'm goona check now meh

  4. Ill be filming tommorow so if it gets good ill post it on here!

some towering clouds out to my south west or they might just be high clouds but the haze is making it hard to judge! the tops are white and underneath is dark.

Still is in the high 20's and very very humid!

  5. haha paul you couldnt sneak us some cape in your luggage on your way back could you? air_kiss.gifrolleyes.gif

its looking a bit thundery here right now but not expecting anything today its hazy with some bubbling cumulus clouds!

Now your local on the 8s: 'starts the jazz'

Currently in your area 27.5C under light clouds

heres your local doppler radar! haha

  6. Indeed, if this west based idea is still here by this time tomorrow then we hopefully have the situation agreed leaving only whether how much thundery it will be if at all of course. unsure.gif

If it is thundery and elevated storms are the case, hopefully they will survive the sea and last inland well. Its been such a quiet year so far!

    Understatment of the year :)

on another note lets not get too excited now! clap.gif

  7. Its june already and have only heard one bit of thunder, even compared to 2007/8 this year is very much behind and those years there were hardly any and not one significant storm.

Lets hope this years back building to unleash the mother of all storms! whistling.gif

How frustrating, im just hopeing that the GFS figures will increase the thunderstorm activity on sunday but most unlikely! sigh!

  8. I have no idea how to embed video so ill just post the link.

this was the craziest storm i think ive seen, some pretty decent videos I just wish i was there on the 4th August 2008! but those sirens give me nightmares they are very scary sounding!

the sirens are Federal Signal Modulators in Alternate Wail mode! awsome! smile.gif

This is what it looks like! v

  9. quite alot of convection here right now some really dark clouds to my south/southeast i can see the top shooting up. looks a bit small for thunder atm but you never know hopefully! smile.gif

Theres two Cbs just floating by!

  10. If only ay you never know though it could happen this year could be are year!

It took me about 10 mins in all, the worst part about it was getting the severe areas looking right but overall it was a pretty easy thing to do as i do alot of graphical work. I just took a pretty empty chart from the estofex archives copied the colours from the numbers and drew around the areas where i wanted the different warnings, then copied and pasted the numbers and the thunderstorm symbol where i wanted and then set the transparency colour to black (this makes the black areas invisible) and that way only the symbols where left, finally I flattend the whole thing as the symbols where on a different layer to the background chart.

Coming back to reality, lets hope that next weeks chart is correct and we do indeed get atleast some thundery downpours.

  11. Have issued a storm forecast for the risk of an isolated elevated storm somewhere along the south coast tonight/tomorrow morning.

    http://www.netweathe...onvective;sess=

Current upper steering winds at 500mb would suggest a few storms or heavy showers may reach the south coast, though as they cross over on to the cool/dry northern side of the front straddling E-W across W Channel into Paris Basin - they may wane/die out:

I hope so nick, I really do but the area doesnt quite reach where i live but i could probably see the lightning from them.

  12. This year ive only had 1 tiny bit of lightning followed by thunder that was very whimpy with no bass at all, my dog didnt even go mad and he always does with storms. i wouldnt even call it a thunder shower as it was hardly raining at all.

I think the lightning/thunderstorm activity has been decreasing, 2007/8 where two years when i hardly heard or saw lightning at all, 2009 we had one intense storm in june and then in august i went to florida we had a few giant thunderstorms and nearlly every day i either heard thunder or i saw lightning (e.g. distant) thats why i want to move there thanks, ill have that plane ticket now please! wub.gif

The south east isn't playing ball this year, sucks even more for people up north though i gotta feel sorry for you guys!
